I am running a xxx-nt on a blue groove surface and my truck is all over the place. I am already replacing the rear tires with some taper-pins since that is really the only tire that will hook up at my track.

Any ideas of what I can do to achieve more traction on this track. I am losing races horribly because my truck will not stick to the surface.

Suspension ideas, ball stud location, camber, toe, front tires, any thoughts will be very appreciated.

Both. When I go in it squirms and when I come out it is doing the same thing. It's being very hard to control.

Sound like you may have to play with your suspension. Try different springs, Different shock fluid weights. What type tires and foams are you using that cause this? This another factor that can cause you to loose some traction. What about your Camber and toe in/out?

Need more info!

I have red springs all around, 35 wt. in frontt and 40 wt. in the rear. The tires in the rear are bowties and the fronts are ribs. My camber is set at approx. 1 to 2 degrees of negative and my toe-in is also about 1 to 2 degrees. As far as the inserts I do not know what is in them. The tires came with the truck when I bought it from PD2. Thanks.

In my experience and I'm no expert, but I do race my xxx-nt is;

Soft suspension

Loosen Slipper

I race my XXX-NT as well and use small lead weights mounted as low as possible on the chassis in certain areas. It does help to have a race set-up in the ballpark though. Good Luck racing

I have the same problem with my xxx-nt. So far the best things I have done was 1) made a weight to mount on the front bulkhead to keep the front end on the ground better, 2) use the stiffest foams you can find in your rear tires, 3)make sure your left to right suspension is balanced (check by settling car as per ride height ck., use small screwdriver placed at center line of front end and raise car til the wheels leave the surface. Both wheels should come off the surface at the same time. Adjust rear shock springs until you get it right then do the same for the rear.) 4) rear ride heigth slightly higher than front. 5) high speed servo for steering. 6) pink or red taper pins or king pins for tires.

After doing these adjustments and mods, my lap times went from 28-34 to a blistering 21-22 average. If I get a few more things dialed in and learn to drive better, I'll be putting heat on the guys in the A-main that are already starting to worry (5 races and got my first A-main this weekend :dance: ).
