Need some brushless info

This is a heli, but the principle would be the same.
I'm supposed to get a few short beep tones when the motor is ready to go after turning on power, but I don't. All the servos are working properly, but the motor will not turn on throttle up.
What actually beeps, the motor or the ESC, and would you have any idea what the problem might be?

if this is the first set up and power up you could have the throttle servo back wards and that would be why the motor wont power up.

I've tried everything. On a heli it's easy to tell if the throttle servo is correct, since it activates 3 servos to raise the swash plate and increase the collective pitch.

Throttle trim might be set too high or to far back so that the esc is already trying to send the motor power, that would keep it from arming. I would turn it all on then slowly start changing your trim.

Dumb questions, I know, but; Do you have your throttle trim bottomed out, or in the middle Rolex? idle up or throttle hold on accidentally? Some systems won't let you arm the ESC until you turn throttle hold off, then back on after powering up the radio. But, my particular radio has an alarm on it to let you know. It's the ESC that will beep, not the motor BTW.

All my other helis are controlled by my Spektrum DX-7. I'm using the stock 2.4 that came with this one. I've turned off the throttle hold and turned the trim all the way down.
I've just completed a total rebuild since I got it damaged. Nothing major, just bent tail boom, damaged rotor blades and stripped main gear. NOTHING else on the heli sustained any damage, and both the motor and ESC are very protected in this model.

Was it crash damage I assume? Not saying this is it, but some of the E Flite ESC's used to be notorious for burning up if you didn't hit the throttle hold before you augered in. The extra load from the blades striking the ground and trying the flop around the weight of the heli was just too much. A lot of guys on the heli forums were soldering fuses inline just for that reason.

I've gotten a PM from the member I got it from, confirming that everything still ran after it went in. Of course it couldn't be flown, but the electronics and motor still functioned.

I'm a total tool. I even bought another Spektrum Rx so I could use my own radio, but before opening the box I made another attempt to figure out the Chinese heli manual.
I had the ESC plugged into the standard power port on the E-Flight Rx, and it should have been plugged into Ch 3.
All is well, it beeps, then powers up.
