ok heres heres the deal
i recently woofed my trx i just rebuilt ,,do not have a lot of money to dish out the motor i really want for my maxx ,so
my brother just bought a OS max .15 cv pull start motor ,i knowi i will need to modify crank ot fit the tmaxx ,but my bigest concewrn if adapting the rotor carb to the slider assembly
can i adjust the throttle arm that moves the other little throttle arm lol to fit into the arm of the carb with out bunding up on me and work ok?

i can get this motor cheaper then actually rebuilding my trx for
please let me know
thanx rick

You can get a OS CVRX .18 from tower for about $95, and I also see them often on ebay for $89. You can get it in either rotary or slide carb versions.

IMO this is a much better option than rebuilding that 2.5.

the os i can get will be less the 50 bucks
so definatly worth adapting over and it is nip
just wondered if i would run into trouble adapting the linkage from my trx slider to the os rotory carb ,,i am athinking it will work bu using angled pcs the hooked into the throtle post hooking it directly to the throttle on the carb of the os,,
what ya think

I don't understand the difference in the .18 engines that OS makes. I want one, but I don't know enough about the OS models to know what the heck i am buying.
I would prefer one that is made for the tmaxx, and one that i could use a pullstart or shaftstart on.

To get a rotary carb engine to work in a non-rotary carb t-maxx, you need new throttle linkage. Also, if it's a 2.5 maxx, you will need a new pipe and side exhaust header.

To get that $50 engine in your maxx is going to cost you about $80 unless you have parts on hand.

Here's the cheapest side exhaust pipe/header I found that would work on the maxx with little effort: Duratrax Tuned Pipe/Header

This is the throttle linkage you need, ignore the picture, the part # came from the pro-.15 maxx (old maxx): Pro .15 Carb Linkage

You will also need a clutch nut adapter thing:Clutch Adaptor Nut

I know this because I installed an OS 15 cv-r(x) in my 2.5 maxx when I had it. These were all the parts I needed and used.
