Well I can't say much about that particular pipe but I can say this. I run the CVEC Pwer Systems pipe on my savage and it is great. It is a LOT quieter than stock and it gives great performance. Other pipes that people have liked are Tsais Pipes. They look very cool too.

I may be wrong, but that article I linked to was dated 2003. I was checking out the pics of the new Savage SS kit with the .28 motor and it sure looks like the same pipe. With the other improvements HPI made in the kit, that's good enough for me...I'm off to the LHS!!!

my friend has the pipe that you first made alink to, i have the HPI ribbed tuned pipe, the difference? Mine is louder and gives more performence, his looks nice and is definently better than the stock pipe.

I know a lot of people really praise the "THS" brand of pipes. And, I've used the CVEC pipes before, but never on the big-blocks, but yes, I too need a new pipe since I'm gonna be moving into a neighborhood which is all snoody 'n poop, and I bet theyre definatly gonna complain bout that loud-ass stock SS pipe....And my mom hates the sound it makes too, so I may be able to work-out a deal w/ her that I'll get a quieter pipe if she pays for a % of it...lol, so ya, I too am looking for a good, quiet, and high performance pipe.

BTW, I personally would stay away from the HPI engine/pipe stuff cause they arn't exactly a real high-performance company...like trinity....

Hobby shop was closed...I think I'll investigate a little more. I was looking at the cvec pipes this morning and wouldn't mind trying one. I think You have a good point cvec7, HPI may not be the high performance company/pipe. The fun part of a snoody neighborhood is an abundance of small pesky dogs. You'll never be bored as long as you have fuel!!!

i can't say anything about the other pipes but i have the hot bodies exhaust and its quieter than stock and it has great performance.

Neighbours do not like savage...police involved

After tuning my Savage I took it outside for a test run and was going to blow off a tank of fuel. Aparantly the elderly neighbours did not like me tearing down the road with this thing so they called the police on me. Police arrived said they have NEVER seen an RC like this before and told me I am going to have to use it somewhere else becasue the neighbours do NOT like the noise and there have been a couple of complaints. SO my friends I come to you once more for some suggestions...(non violent of course) I am looking at changing the exhaust pipe on my savage 25, from what I have been reading I am looking at a TSAIS badboy (they look cool and are suppose to be quiet) or a CVEC pipe....can someone please tell me what the quietest pipe is that is available for a Savage 25. I am not to concered about performance at the moment I just need something that is going to bring the roar of the bigblock down to a mimimum. Thank you for your help in advance :)

Here is my :2cents: on your deal..
If your neigbors are complaining now they are going to complain now matter witch pipe you have..so check your local
laws and see if Its all right to run your R/C in your hood...

yes it is perfectly legal, that is why I did not get a ticket or something, usually i do go somewhere else, but once in awhile I stay at home and run down the street a few times, I was only at like a half a tank when they called the police...so what's that about 10 minutes of testing a savage. But I still would like to tame the noise down so any help would be great. I bought a house in a new neighbourhood, and all of the other houses sold and old arrogant people live in em.

I just got that pipe in a trade with a member here. I'll probably take the savage out this weekend sometime to see what it sounds/performs like. BTW, I'm using an old almost dead OS 21 RG with it.

The CVEC pipe is extrememly quiet. Almost as quite as small block engines. It gives great performancetoo, I highly recomend it.

i sold my CVEC to someone on here, i just wasn't a fan of it. i now use a buggy pipe (picco 069 knockoff) and it runs great and isnt any louder than my buggies .21's.

I have my CVEC for sale or trade if anyone is interested. See the For Sale forum.

CVEC is a great pipe but I have another pipe coming and don't need this anymore.
