Not worried about all out race, just something for occasional racing. Was thinking about these
Mugen MBX5
Cen Matrix Pro & RTR
Hot Bodies Lightning sport
Ofna Hyper 8
Thunder Tiger Eb4 S3

Wanting to keep it around 400

Wanting to get some opinions from people who have driven these or know someone who has.

Go with the Mugen and then get a couple of the prospec parts off eBay like the captured hinge pins and one piece mount.

If i understand, you want to buy a buggy? If yes, buy an Inferno MP777 of kyosho...if no, then go for the mugen without comment.

I would lokk for a Kyosho 777 i ran a Mugen, hated it.. ran a Jammmin FTE, hated it. if not the Kyosho i would go with the Cen!!! Very durable and capable

Hey man, don't forget that the mugen is in second place, and of course the WC on the first place. They are good models for buggy offroad.

well I ended up buying a mayhem, I know it isn't a all out race buggy. I figured I would run it at a couple of local races to see if I like racing the buggy class and then upgrade to a more competitive buggy. I get a real nice summer bonus every year so I would start with all new stuff. I am leaning towards the mbx5r, 777 wc, x1 cr factory pro, 8ight and wanting to see what the new rc8 does. Thank you for all of your replies. It has helped me for the future.

If you"ll have much money, go for the MP777 WC. Is the coolest model of the buggy class. No doubt about it. And when you do, don't forget to post some cool pictures of it, and a nice video too. Yo man, i hope you love the buggies. I love them, they running in every type of field, except of course the tall "green", you know.
