i have a almost 4 year old rc10 gt, and its all stock but the shocks and I'm going to put a different engine in it and i was wondering if this would work
.18 cv-rx (s) abc(idk if that abc means anything just copied of the site)
and i was wondering if i have to buy anything extra or if i can just put the engine right in w/o buying anything esle.

THX

You should be alright to drop it right in. Just make sure the carb is a rotary carb. Other than that, if your truck has a pullstart engine in it now, you're set to go. If not, you'll need an engine mount and header.

Only thing you MAY have to do is trim the crankshaft a bit. Otherwise, will drop right in. If it's a pullstart, you'll have to make sure you have the right engine mount.

my engine before was a pull start so it should just go in right?

Yep! You're good to go! Just invest in some tires, that mill will flat wear your tires down lickity-split! I'd also suggest adding RRP gears to the transmission, just to beef it up.

alright good how fast do u think that motor will go on pavement?

It'll go from fast to holey moley that's fast!

Yeah, that's for sure! I don't put a lot of stock in MPH because it's more of a marketing ploy than anything. Not directed to anyone inparticular, having the fastest rig does not equate to having the best or being able to enjoy it the most. I actually took the OS .18 out of my RC10GT because it became such a hassle to keep the wheels down that it wasn't fun to drive anymore, that, and I was spending money on new tires I would rather have spent on RPM arms, a new body and the like. At some point, you will reach the point of diminished returns on installing bigger and bigger mills into your rig. Keep in mind, a bigger mill tends to produce higher amounts of torque, which will eat a drivetrain up quickly. I upgraded the tranny in my 10GT, and while that was never the issue with the .18 in it, hard to steer when the nose is in the air!

I'm merely saying that, I've seen individuals drop massive mills into a 10GT or a Jato, gear them for insane speeds only to promptly drive that rig right into a tree or a parked car, basically obliterating their car.

The .18 is about as big a mill I WOULD PERSONALLY GO WITH (yeah, .21RC10GT puts bigger ones in his, but he also molests Collie's!) before it no longer is fun. You'll like that mill a lot! Very powerful, easy to tune and holds it incredibly! As has been mentioned, toughen up your drivetrain and consider adding some weight to the nose, and you'll have a speedy little machine for sure!

How much do the engines cost around? i got a 50 dollar gift certificate to lhs
and like 150 bucks. Would that be enough?

that engine is great, alot of fun you may even consider thinking to put on some thrasher 2000's itll make it even better.

yaaay i got engine...DONT WORK...lol i bought it from lhs and i was taking the stuff off my .15(idk what they are called but there what go on the shaft with the screw on it)(could u tell me what that stuff is plz) and i was putting them on the .18 and ther rubbed against that carb thing then the screw that goes on it i couldnt get off so i had to stick a screwdriver down the carb so it wouldnt turn to get the nut off. so tommorrow going to go and bring the .18 back and ask what i need to get it to run.

Can we say: VOIDED WARRANTY? Ouch! That's like sitting on a cactus.

LMAO, well nice attempt, but i might correct you, its actualy

WARRANTY VOID !!!

But yea bad bad bad thing you did sticking screwdriver down carb

If you feel the need, next time, stick the screwdriver in the exhaust port.

I hope you realize this post is sarcastic…… You never want to stick anything inside the engine or carb.

For the visually impaired and if you are hard of reading……..
