LMAO

thats pretty english imo, basicaly dont feck wid ur engin with a screwdriver or n e thing else tbh, but erm, yea parts I'm not so good with *(hands over to eddy and the other pro's)*

fine ill tell the story y i took the screw driver in the carb.....
i was putting on the nut and i forgot to put something on so i was sitting there twisting the stupid thing for like 5 mins then i looked to see if it was the right size. so then i took grease and put there and keep twisting andit wouldnt come off then my dad said it was probably the shaft thing was turning to so i couldnt get it to stop so i just put a screwdriver down the carb and the nut came off. now i need to know those parts

Wow! How long you been running R/C's and you don't know the names of the basic parts AND went and bought a new engine AND now possibly screwed it up by sticking a screwdriver down the carb throat? Jesus man, ever hear of a manual? That's quite a set of retarded moves in row right there, man.

OK, so, my inability to truly understand what you posted aside, I'll try to lend a hand:

yaaay i I got (an) engine...DOESN'T WORK...lol i bought it from lhs and i was taking the stuff off my .15(idk what they are called but there what go on the shaft with the screw on it)(could u tell me what that stuff is plz) Well, I'm guessing you are referring to the collet, the flywheel, the clutch nut, the clutch, clutch bell, bearings and possibly an E-clip.and i was putting them on the .18 and ther rubbed against that carb thing you need to add shims behind the collet so the flywheel doesn't rub the carb (which is not a "carb thing") then the screw that goes on it i couldnt get off so i had to stick a screwdriver down the carb so it wouldnt turn to get the nut off (I'm guessing you cross threaded the clutch nut or something). so tommorrow going to go and bring the .18 back and ask what i need to get it to run. (patience and a look over the OWNERS MANUAL would be my suggestion!) There is nothing wrong with that engine (at least there wasn't) but you haven't taken the time to learn the basic part names of an engine. I'd suggest you at least try taking that initiative to learn a little more.

lol..finally someone tells me. i had my gt for 5 years but we moved the second year we got it and most of stuff was in storage for like a year. then when we moved the stuff from storage,i grabbed my rc/car and it wouldnt start so i bought a new glow plug and new tires. then i didnt bother getting a new one cus it was cold out and snowing so i just put the box in our basement and i forgot about it.then like 3 days ago i found it and i rembered the engine didnt work.and i called the lhs about sticking the screwdriver down the carb and he said to take the carb off and see if anything was bent. and the was nothing so my engines good. but now it wont fit on my old mounts.

Didn't you say you have an ALMOST 4 year old RC10GT? How did you get the extra year again? Why did you even put anything foreign in the carb other than fuel? I would recheck the settings on the engine All needles need to be reset to factory, use fresh fuel, a good or new plug and a charged ignitor. From there I want to know where you stand.

in first post i didnt count this year but that post i decided i would cus in like 2 weeks it would be 5 years

dont nubs just p*** u off sumtimes monkey :P

if u wanted to stop the fly wheel movin put a cloth/rag on it and clamp with vise grips (or watever u call em over in amarica) not too tight tho just enough to stop it movin . now would u like to no wat them round rubber things are on the side of ur truck? maybe stab em with a screw driver see how it works (joke)

ps stickin a srewdriver down the carb lol still makin me laugh.

lol dam i shouldnt of said anything about that I'm getting dissed...... dam screwdriver

ARE U KIDDING ME!!!! direct drop in my @$$. i spent 45 bucks on other stuff then the motor (new fly wheel, clutch nut,2 collets, engine mount, mip clutch spring)then had to cut this thing off cus the pull start wasn't out far enough.
took me 3 hours to put all together and either my clutch bell doesn't work or I'm missing a spacer so i can't run it. the clutch bell doesn't turn with the fly wheel, thats y i can't run it. i actually getting to know my parts:)

Are you sure it wasn't a direct drop in? either that or you got hosed. All engines are pretty close to a direct drop in,it's all in the clutch nut,or clutch shaft, those are the direct drop in problems, threaded or sg.Pullstart that's not a problem, not everythings perfect drop you may have to modify a little.the clutch part has me stumped.

o when they say that i thought like u just put on mounts and its basiclly done. yea I'm just going to bring engine there and have them put the clutch bell and stuff on so i dont wrek anything esle

Does this ring a bell?

Only thing you MAY have to do is trim the crankshaft a bit. Otherwise, will drop right in. If it's a pullstart, you'll have to make sure you have the right engine mount.

Clutchbell WILL NOT TURN WITH THE FLYWHEEL unless the clutch is engaged (i.e. you are giving it throttle). If the flywheel is spinning and the CB is not, and the engine is at idle, then it's working fine. If the CB is spinning with the flywheel and the engine is at idle, your clutch is either on backwards or the clutch springs are shot (or not installed).

My suggestion is that you READ THE MANUAL! The manual that somes with the RC10GT EXPLICITLY TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED TO INSTALL AN AFTERMARKET ENGINE! If you do not have one, visit their website and download it.

holy moly THIS GUY GETS ME EVERYTIME!!!!!...so the clutch bell wont turn with the fly wheel w/o the engine on?wich manual are u talking about i got one for enging and it just names parts that came with and the origanil manual i lost

Alright pay attention,The Clutchbell is ment to spin freely until the car/truck/buggy is applied enough throttle to engaged the clutch. For some reason i don't know why you replaced the clutch,cb,and whatever else it's making me want to scream in confusion.Go find a AE manual,Read it.I give up read about centrifical clutch's.then your's understand

oooo i get it now. either way i would of have to replaced that stuf any way.

No, it's painfully obvious you do not get it! You do NOT have to replace the flywheel, clutchbell and clutch when installing a new engine (unless they are worn out, damaged or you simply want to). If the guy at the LHS told you you had to, go back and slap his dumbass because it's the blind leading the dumb right now.

For the RC10GT there are two different engine mounts. One is designed for pullstart engines, the other is not. The only other modification you MAY have to make when dropping the .18 in is trimming the crankshaft (which has been explained ad nauseum) and a different clutch nut. This is the nut that holds the clutchbell onto the crank.

As for the manual, have you heard of the Internet? I'm not making any assumptions anymore, so I'm trying to help, but I'm not going to hand-hold anymore. You want to learn how to wrench on this thing, you need to take a bit more initiative in learning about it. If you are familiar with the Internet, follow this link and download the owners manual: http://www.teamassociated.com/shusting/CatalogHub/cathub_offroad.htm.

After you download it, print a copy and then, and here's the catch, READ IT! In it, you will find a wealth of information surrounding your rig.

Now, go forth and prosper!

lol...he always gets me....the parts are worn out i just forgot to put that in the last reply
