Need Help!!!

I am trying to disassemble my OS .15, but I can't get the flywheel off. Does it unscrew? Clockwise or counter Clockwise? Or does it pull of.

It should be able to be "pulled" off.

It will be difficult, and sometimes seem impossible. But I'm glad you came an asked before messing something up. If the motor has a pullstarted, you're in luck, if not... You may have some trouble. The way that I accomplished my first removal was a set of "vice grips", and a thick towel. I turned the flywheel with the vice grips with the towel inbetween them and the flywheel, counterclockwise, against the pullstart. It finally let go and slid right off. The only reason I removed it this was because the pull starter was already destroyed in all respect. Don't do it that way unless you don't care about damaging your starter.

The best, and probably the easiest would be to get yourself a flywheel wrench and a "piston stop" wrench. Those are probably the two most handiest tools. They make that job very simple, instead of "riggin" your way through it. Ask your local hobby shop if they carry them, and see if they'll show you how to use them, or maybe even have them help you remove it.

And then there is the 'Battery Terminal Puller' available at all auto parts stores for approximtely $ 2.50.... Works the best and easiest.

KD makes a nice one thats a little more pricey (I've been thinking of getting one) but the regular generic ones they sell work fine too (which is what I use now)

I held my flywheel in a vice and got the nut that holds the flywheel with some hevy duty pliers and then got the flywheel off with a flatheads screw driver :yes:

I just hold the engine between my knees(could put it in a vice with a towel around it), use two standard screw drivers, one on each side under the flywheel and twist. The thing pops right off.

According to the manual that came with my t-maxx, to take off the flywheel you should smack it with a non-marring hammer. I have tried that and never had any luck at all.

Whatever you do, don't try to hold the engine with one hand and pry the screwdriver with the other. I did that once, slipped and the screwdriver went about 2" into my hand... yeah.. ouch.

I would have to say though that the battery terminal puller idea would probably be the best and safest way to remove the flywheel(once you have removed the clutch nut of course).

I need help please I've just got a t-maxx trx 2.5 and I'm having trouble trying to tune it, it keeps staling and there are no wheelies on acceleration please can anybody help me i would be so greatful.

I am hoping to be around fairly often now that my life has settled down again. I actually have time to drive my t-maxx, now if only the weather would permit it.
