My second problem is that my tranny stopped shifting into second today, it worked fine all morning, I ran out of fuel, took it inside for an hour or so and went to run it again before my wife got home and noticed that it wasn't shifting into second, any ideas as to what I should check first?

Thanks, Mike

I'm really new to the whole RC world, but I too had a Revo with a saggy ass. I ordered new springs for the the rear, but while I was waiting for them I went ahead and changed the Fluid in the shocks. I used 30wt silicone shock oil as recomended by the hobby shop guys. The old stuff in the shocks was blackish silver and looked thin. I know the oil is only for the damping, but I swear my revo no longer sags. It was like I put new shock on the thing. I don't have the new springs yet and it looks like I won't need em even when the order arrives.

Oh. one more thing. I'm sure you probably know this, but the revo has a different rate spring for the front and rear. Is it possible the front shocks got installed on the rear and visa-versa. The rear springs should have a Green make on them.

I use the purple marked spring(stiffer) Might wanna checked the oil in them too, how old is the Revo?

I just looked at the photos again, and you are right about the shock oil. Look closely and you can see the shocks are almost completely compressed!
Time for an oil change my friend! Hell, if there is even any left in them... You may want to order a rebuild kit as well.

+1 on all of the above tear shocks apart and put fresh oil in them and on the purple springs.

If you rebuild them, consider buying shock covers. I ran my shocks uncovered for a couple months and it wasn't long before they were leaking fluid everywhere. With the rebuild and covers, my shocks have held their fluid for around 3 months.

There's always surgery if you don't want to exercise. You might also look into Kevlar Jockey shorts.

There is a surgical procedure, it only takes a few hours, but you will have to sleep on your stomach for a couple of weeks.

Come on guys, that one was too easy.:\

NVM rolex beat me.

awsome, I'll have to wait till' monday when the rc shop is open but I'll go ahead and do all 4 shocks while I'm at it,

Anybody have any ideas where I should start looking for problems with my tranny not shifting into second?

First thing I'd do about the shifting issue is try changing the shift point on it. If you haven't done that before it might be a good time to try. One thing to check on before you adjust the shift point is if the slipper clutch is too loose. I had this same problem with my revo in the past and to fix it I first needed to tighten the slipper clutch and then an adjustment of the shift point was needed to get things back the way they were. Here's a link on checking/tightening the slipper clutch and Shift point adjustment info is definitely in your manual. Sorry, couldn't find a link about that to post quickly. It's very, very simple to do though. Hope this helps...

I rebuilt both shocks, got stiffer springs for the back (6.9) and moved the back springs to the front, I was able to lower it a bit so it can still handle killer jumps with out rolling over everytime I turn on concrete.

Your revo will delay in shifting if it is cold and if your engine is running too rich it will keep the engine for reving up high enough to engage second gear. You can set the tranny shift point to stock for starters if you want.

The revo will always sag a little in the rear but the new GTR Shocks from traxxas rock and throw on some stiffer springs in the rear. But a good rebuild should work fine and save you some money.
