RC Driving Style
I currently have a .15 tmaxx with all rpm "A" arms and shock towers. I spent some money replacing all the steering stuff, and other broken stuff. I have a Megatech 16 engine and a rear exhaust tuned pipe.

My question: what can I do to make this thing go faster. Should I lighten it by doing a forward only converstion? Should I get a cold air filter? Which is heavier Aluminum or stock plastic "A" arms and shock towers. Should I do a rear wheel drive only conversion?

This tmaxx is very fast for the old .15 but I want to get it smoking.

I have offset rims, with lite proline tires. I have the tuned exhaust.

Help!

I have the same truck as you do. I would go with as much rpm parts as possible and stay away from heavy aluminum. The foward only conversion really helps also I'm happy I did it to mine :D. If you want it REALLY fast drop in a O.S .18 I have heard they are screaming engines and have way more power than even the newer Maxx. The cold air conversion doesn't help at all and actully makes it harder to tune total waste of money imo. I had one and it caused more problems then anything!

I considered the OS 18 but I just got this motor from Megatech rebuilt.

if you want more power cheap then go with the OS .18 CVRX and read the installation procedure from this site and you will be hooked up

excellent reading
and if you want more power from your stocker then you can do the 2wd convertion but braking sux and its hard on your diffs and axles ,atleast with the OS it is twistes them like twizzlers
also if you want more speed then go up a few teeth on the clutch bell and down a few on the spur and adjust the shift point also

but anyhoo thats my opinion and i am stickin to it ,,lol

you could always drop in an omega .21 with a tuned pipe.

I have it in mine. Believe me, you won't have any speed issues after that.

I have alot of aluminum on mine and it will walk all over my savage.

Could you imagine how much faster it would be though, with lighter parts on it?

With speed you need consider adjusting your suspension. Lower your center of gravity. You can try getting the RPM WIDE MAXX arms and then playing with your suspension set up. Whatever you do, Speed is fun for bashing and such but racing there is hardly an excess need for it. Try out the the Os 18TM or even the drop in Ofna Picco 26 or the Sirio 23. Let us know what you got.
