A good friend of mine just replaced his older radio system on an older Revo 3.3 with the 2.4 Link system and has no throttle response. After much reading it seems that the optidrive needs to be replaced with an updated optidrive. So if anyone has an optidrive laying around from a 5309 we sure could use one. The cheaper the better.

Thanks, Mike

Since the link radio has a decent failsafe built in, why not just delete the Opti drive altogether?
As long as you don’t accidentally switch into reverse while the truck is moving forward all is well.

yea i thought a lot of people done away with the optidrive all together....though i think they usually do the FOC (forward only conversion) and do away with the reverse all together....myself...i like the reverse option so i can understand if you don't want to go that route but it is an option...

Let me run it by him and see what he wants to do.

Thanks, Mike

I have all the gears and parts for the optidrive, but not the whole unit.

if you remove the optidrive , be sure you have another failsafe ..the one in the radio is not enough ..it will just work for signal loss ...and the optidrive acts as a failsafe for low voltage

The link radio has a low voltage fail safe.
A 2nd in line failsafe is not compatible with the link system in most instances.

A low voltage failsafe = throttle return spring.
