Need advice on new Savage Truck!

I just bought this All aluminum Savage truck on Ebay for $630 with lots of extra parts and two extra motors. I'm a little new to this but I added up the numbers on the parts and it seems like a good deal. I've considered selling the extra motors and use the funds to get the .46 truckzilla motor. Either that or keep it the way it is.
Any advice appreciated

Thanks. I use this screen name everywhere. It looked dam nice to me too. So nice I forked out $630 for it. I might ebay those two extra motors and use the funds towards the .46. It didnt come with a radio but I hear the RTR Savage radios are junk anyway. I got a JR XS3 coming for it. I've already spent $1300 on stuff thats still in transit. I'm waiting for the truck, radio, and a RTR Hyper 7 PCR edition which I paid $460 for. Quite alot for a beginner.

The men in brown came to my apartment today to make a delivery to my neighbor. I thought the delivery was for me. When I heard the truck I ran to the window like a little kid.

I know how you feel about the man in brown! I live in Okinawa Japan, so i must use USPS. It sucks! On average, it takes about 12-15 days for an order to reach me. I have to say though, that is one sweet ride. I would part out those two engines, and at least try that new engine. Are you going to get the package with tires?? My buddy has those tires, and they are just the largest things in RC! Although, he has the Trinity Sirio .27! I've heard a few good things about the new .46! You do get the extended chassis, and I beleive you get the steel drive shafts! Anyway, good luck man! Can't wait to see the truckzilla project on more trucks!

There are three motors. The Force 25 thats in the truck(slightly used), One new Force 25 that needs a crank pin, and an HPI 25 with about 2 gallons run through it. I dont know about messing around with the extended chassis but it might be recommended.
Wouldnt that extend the length of the whole truck? The Truckzilla tires are pretty cool. I can swing with those. Id probably buy the whole package and ebay whatever I dont want. I think it comes with a nice muffler too.
I've never worked on these things but I work on buses for a living so I'm sure I can figure it out.

HarryN - I have a friend who had the Ofna Titan dual engine. Dished out about $630.00. Very powerful and he liked it, until problems with making both engines perform at the same level keeps lurking. Tuning was a big headache. The two engines just take turns in performance, they only both performed well the first 2 weeks. It is wonderful to look at, but he only used it for 1.5 months and sold it in ebay with a 30% loss on the value.

If I were you, I'd sell the two engines and buy the .46. I just placed an order myself yesterday at Meganitro.com. It is still $230 on pre-order for the entire kit without the wheels because I already have the Mayhems on Revolution HB wheels.

That's a nice rig you've got, hope you enjoy running it, good luck on the decision making.

:preachin:

wow tuning was big headache for him lol i can even tune 1 engine lol I'm to stupid or sumthin i dont know the problem i have a BFT and i can't tune the engine I'm sure some1 can but i can't lol

I couldnt resist the temptation so I pre-orderd the full Truckzilla kit

I'm gonna Ebay the other motors and go with the .46 conversion.

I'm also getting some nice servos for it since the ones that are in there are stock HPI servos. Ill probably go with the Hitecs(HS-5625MG and HS-5645MG). I hear their top notch.
I also bought a JRXS3 radio for $175.

Here is the damage(shipping included):

All Aluminum Savage w/extras $650
Truckzilla kit w/tires $320
Hitec digital servos $130
JRXS3 FM 75MHZ Radio $175
Miscallaneous stuff $50
______
TOTAL $1325 :whack:

This doesn't include the $460 I spent for a new Hyper 7 PCR edition buggy. With that it comes out close to $1800.
So there it is. Three weeks into this hobby and I'm hitting almost 2 big ones. I'm gonna shoot the guy at work who kept bringing his T-maxx everyday and got me addicted to it.

I'm a little new to this so if anyone can think of something else I can do to beef up this monster let me know while I still have the extra money. Ill post pictures as soon as I put it together

Here is whats in it besides the stuff above:

SERVOS, FORCE 25 MOTOR IN TRUCK EXTRAS INCLUDE: GPM: STEERING KNUCKLES, POWDER COATED GPM: HUB CARRIERS, POWDER COATED, HOT BODIES ALUMINUM SHOCKS GPM: ALUMINUM BODY MOUNTS , FRONT AND REAR INTEGY: ALUMINUM SHOCK TOWERS,FRONT AND REAR CUSTOM ALUMINUM A ARMS AND CONTOL ARMS, ONE SET OF MAX MULCHERS ON TITAN WHEELS, BRAND NEW BLACK POWDER COATED SKIDS, KIPPSTER RACING: STAINLESS STEEL DRIVE SHAFTS ,FRONT AND REAR. HEAVY DUTY DOGBONES: FRONT AND REAR. THREE PULL STARTERS, ONE ATOMIK BODY AND THE STOCK BODY INLCUDED

 Cheers and welcome to one of the most expensive hobbies in the world. Some of our colleagues in RCNT would claim IT IS the most expensive hobby in the world.

When I started this hobby, I budgeted $550.00 tops. Now I do not even bother checking, to me it is not worth stopping until you are fully satisfied. I sure hope that my truckzilla kit will be the end.

Have fun bashing!
