I don't plan on racing at all. Just parking lot bashing and maybe try some drifting, but it doesn't need to be drift specific. I have a Revo that I run off-road all the time, but I'm looking for something different to go with my Revo. I had an older RS4 when it was a kit, it was OK, but a little weak.

I've had several Traxxas models, so I 'm liking the 4-Tec also.

Other ideas and links would be welcome, also if you can explain why you like/dislike each model.

Thanks!

If you looking for a nitro, the Associated NTC3 is a rock solid choice.

It can take a beating and parts are available just about everywhere.

do u want nitro or electric?

Go with the tc3 its a nice car for the money. Stay away from those that are only designed for speed (4-tec). They are not very controllable and if you happen to crash going 60 all you are going to need is a dustpan and a broom!

I have 2 HPIs if you're interested ;-) I have an RS4 3 EVO roller and a complete RS4 2 at the moment.....pretty sure the OS 12CRV motor can be swapped from one to another using the same motor mount as well. I haven't put them in my for sale thread yet, but looking to get $250 for BOTH cars....or $160 for the RS4 2 and $75 for the RS4 3 EVO.

I saw the NTC3. It's a great nitro car and is very durable. It was my first RC and it never broke on me. Partly because I never crashed it, but I ran on a very bumpy road.

Another one I suggest are the HPI RS4's. I ran their electric version and it was great. I imagine their nitro would be the same.

I have a the newest 4- tec 3.3, and I would recommend it mainly because it has the power, and its just a fun car to drive. There isnt that big of an aftermarket for it yet, but out of the box with just standard tuning you can expect roughly 55-60 mph.

Hey, I dont mean to hijack. But dont you want a shaft car and not belt driven if you are going to bash it? I am wondering the same thing as AK-Maxx.

Have you looked ant the Kyosho Inferno GT?

More robust then any 1/10 TC I've ever seen and easy to work on and parts are fairly cheap.

stop right there son, with a nitro 3, your not gonna have choices on engines, your gonna be limited to the threaded shaft and not gonna have much tuning abilities. Go with a Team magiv G4S rtr, just 100 usd more its a good starting point to get to really expand your knowledge or wait for the kyosho v-one sr, these are good quality machines on a budget without the carbon fiber hassle.

id have to say thunder tiger ts4n luxe, they are very reliable and fast. for a little pro 12bx it sure does shift, takes quite a bashing and parts are cheap to replace.

Check My Car on Ebay, Its a Kyosho V-One RRR Evo WC Edition With a Sirio .12 Evo 4. Ebay Number 270484398735

I've ran 1/10 TC, parking lot racing, for about 6 yrs. now...had several different models (i.e. Ofna, AE, Hpi, Traxxas and Cen) Out of all of them, I would highly reccomend the NTC3. Tough as nails, fast as piss and easily setup. Parts are cheap, aftermarket parts are available and you dont have the probs of running a belt driven car in a parking lot in which you will get tiny gravels in and eat it up. I've had 5 of these cars and my latest, Factory Team, is in my garage as I speak...err type lol Good luck in your search and enjoy : )

Agreed, the 3.3 is a really fun zipper and even with the extreme power it has, you can still keep it under control with a little bit of feathering of the throttle. I've always baught Traxxas so thats what I stick with

It seems everyone here that actually has race experience (can't put any more of a trial on your rig than racing) has suggested the NTC3......I have a TC4 for my TC bashing needs and it is AWSOME.....I've had 2 NTC3, 3 Electric TC3, a yokomo YSR4, a serpent 705, HPI RS4-2 and a traxx-ass 4-tec.....the 4-tec was almost immediately sold out of frustration and chassis tuning limitations....the RS4 was fun but outdated when I had it.....the Serpent was absolutely superb but was really meant for track use only.....the others were electric and I hablast with all of them.....I think AE go tthe right idea in making a tough fun car in the NTC3....
