I've been noticing more and more lately that the stock filter from my 3.3 just isn't cutting it. The local track I run at is extremely dusty and my filter gets clogged really quickly. Any recommendations for a which new one I should get? I hear motor savers are alright. If you've got one, do they fit on well or is there some slight modifications to get them so the spur gear doesn't rub up against it?

my LHS had the air filter that comes with the new version of the revo so i picked that up. i was also told to try putting some nylon material around the filter to add further protection. we'll see if that works. the track i ride at is so freakin' dusty. gotta clean the filter after each tank...

Just put 1 layer of pantyhose over your stock filter and it should do fine.

You know i have been looking for something that i could put over mine. And i just didn't think of that. Thanks you for jarring my brain a lil.

I can see the wife with only one leg in her pantyhose tomorrow... :D

Hehe....its very very dusty where i bash. The only thing i can think of. I am on an extremelly tight budget and pantyhose seemed just right. Sounds crazy, but they do work well.

I got the Motor saver filter with the Revo neck and although it looks real tight it clears and has not rubbed my spur gear once. I can get pics if you need be. I to though tit would need modding but i figure if it clears and hasn't rubbed once in almost a year odds are it isn't going to.

Pantyhose sounds like a heaps good idea... think ill need to try that because i 2 run my car on my own track and it is really dusty... although it is raining atm so that should get it a bit harder

Pantyhose aren't gonna catch much dust, if anything get the new Traxxas 2 stage filter. has a regular filter and a foam pre-filter. I have a foam pre-filter on my motor saver and it catches just about everything. you don't have to oil the pre-filter which means you can pull it off clean it up quick and throw it back on.

the filter i have now is 2 stage... wonder if its the same thing
if i post a pic u would be able to tell me yea?

I bought a 2 stage a couple of weeks ago i was just looking at the pantyhose thing as a added bonus to keep the pre filter from getting all messed up. What you think?

i pulled back the 1st layer
yes is needs a clean but my car is out of action so i havent done it yet

do you rection that i dont need to oil the outer layer??
i have been and it seems to be catching alot of dirt and that and keeping the inside layer spotless so i think I'm going to keep doing it that way

air filter oil is currently out of stock here atm so i have been using thin oil and just watching it and it seems to be ok :)

I oil my outer layer also. so far it has kept up pretty good. as for the thin oil, For sh*ts and giggles i watched the new dvd from traxxas. The guy said you can use "30 to 40 weight motor oil". then an update came aross the top of the screen, "said that you should use traxxas air filter oil." So i don't see where it would hurt using regular oil.
