I picked this buggy up at a Second hand shop along with another unidentified pan car. I've seen some similar like the jrx 2 I think, but nothing really close to this one. I have done alot of searching and hoped you guys could help me out.

The wheels have the pins in them (not hex style) looks like losi xxx wheels would fit. The rear is dog bone to cvd. It has a ball bearing slipper clutch/diff. The shocks look like old rc10, they are oil filled. The rear A-arms have Houge enterprises stamped on them. The rear shock tower looks like it broke off and they put that white one on there. It is set up for saddle packs.

Belive it or not it runs really good, and handles great. Any help you guys could give me I would appreciate.

Ok the pictures are terrible, but if you need me to get a closer look at a certain part let me know and I will see what kind of detail I can get out of it. **edit added two pics of the rear**

I notcied the gold motor plate? I think its called. Loooks A lot lot hthe original Rc10. What is a R/C 10 T/A? I will get one more shot of the tranny so you can see past the motor plate ;) BTW the tranny is actually purple underneath all that dirt

that tranny is a dead ringer for the original Team Associated RC10. looks like it's been dyed blue. edit: er purple, I could be color blind.
and the fiberglass shock tower is also screaming RC10, at least to me.

The white shock tower is retrofit. The original shock tower I belive broke off. You can see where I circled the ears, thats where it is broke. It is independant of the tranny, but bolted to it.The red vvertical lines are where aluminum body posts were put in the old broken schock tower.

I also posted some of the underside and the countersunk frame. It's a weird material, almost like carbon fiber but stiffer, must be fiberglass.

I'm going to do a search and see what I can find on the old RC 10 T/A thanks a lot for tthe info I have somewhere to look now. Also thanks for bearing with the pictures. It's a Yahoo camera I got for my oson to take to school. one pic from a good camera would have had all the detail I needed. Anyone else know anythign about this? If there's any after market etc? I love playing with the old rc's and displaying them.

Thanks again for looking.

You are absolutely right on the old transmission. I found an Ebay link with the actual manual. I might have to pick it up! Check out the B and white pic of the manual on the link. Its an exact replica of my transmission ;)) Now if I can only find out about the chassis.

**edit**
I found it, thanks modular it's an rc 10-TQ the second link is for the buggy.

Ebay auction for manual

Definitely an early model Associated RC10 with mods.

For me the tranny area and cases are the give away. The trailing arms was mod performed in the late 80s....

It's the old RC10 Gold tub buggy that was converted to the MT with the Associated conversion kit that was offered about a year later.

What do you mean by converted to an MT? Did you mean monster truck, or am I missing something?

Yes Monster truck. It was a conversion kit to change it from a buggy to a Monster truck.

Wow, I wonder what happened to the orignal monster truck tires. That might also explain the ultra low gearing.

While its been years, I don't see anything on that buggy that would lead me to believe it had an MT conversion.

The Trailing arms were run on buggies, the 64 pitch gearing was also a common mod during the late 80s, towers, arms and shocks look very much like the buggy aftermarket parts....

I was trying to post some pics of my RC10 , but I had a problem. I'll post some in my gallery later so u see what I'm talking about. The front shocks and rear assembly is from the RC10 Buggy and they had to have used the MT conversion kit. They also could have used the other conversion kit that came with a lighter chassis and made more for racing. I forgot about that other kit. It's been along time ago that that Buggy has been around.

The rear of your buggy, is a dead ringer for mine from tranny to the shock tower, to those little aluminum poles. it must be a modded rc 10.

The only difference I am seeing at all is instead of a tub, I have a flat peice of fiberglass or carbon fiber. The batterys on my chassis or also saddle style and screw to the fiber.

It's a dead ringer. These things must have been the racers pride back then LOL! Kidna funny that your tires are the exact same I have on mine.

I did however find some of the stock out of the box tires in the box of junk. I'll grab a pic for ya. BTW the front buggy tires I found in the box actually have Team Associated written on them with the little Ae logo. Kinda cool.

I'm telling ya , it must be the lighter chassis for racing. I do recall that option at the old LHS. It was an extra $100 for the upgrade. But yes put up more pics in ur gallery or here if u like.

Edited to get the pic working, do you have any more close ups or your rc10?

On what part do u need. I take some later and put them up. By the way, how do u post the pics on the post?

I upload the pic to my server (I own one in town) then I just link to the picture adress with the IMG buttton above.

I have another mystery car for you to look at here in about 3 minutes hehe

Unless there on a website, I can't post a pic! One of the Mods delete this post please.

Here's the pics of the new mystery car. Again found some like it, but none of it as a whole. I have seen the chassis, but with a different shock/battery mount, then I have seen the shock setup, but on a different chassis.

Here goes,
