I dont have any money right now, but my summer job pays wells, so i should have this completed sometime in July.
What do you guys think of my project, if you guys want to add or change something please go right ahead, i want your guys opinons. :fro:

hey thats a pretty good list, btu I've heard you should stay away from the aluminum upper a-arms. if you just want the bling then go ahead but i think it was woodie(my bad if its not)that said you should stay away from the upper a-arms. just my .02
savager

my lhs is saying that getting the nova m.a.d towers or the new era upper arms and getting the supermax shocks is probably 1 of the best setups. and you only need 4 shocks.

what do you do for a summer job. i can't afford that with my reglar job. i need a job like that

Is that an RC Solutions cage?

thanks for the link, i will try that, yes it is a rc solution cage and i am kinda a maintain guy at these apartments mow lawns, pick weeds, clean pools, i pretty much clean up the complex,i make about alittle over $1260 a summer, i make $7.50 an hour.

Pissant,

After all of the PMs and threads asking about the set up I run, you are going with an 8 shock set up. I am kind of surprised as I thought you were sold on the buggy shock idea. Trust me, the four shock set up is hardy enough to handle everything.

As for the upper a-arms issue. Why people keep harping on upper a-arms is beyond me. If you want to dissuade someone from spending money on a-arms, do it on the lowers. DO NOT BUY metal LOWER a-arms. Too close to the ground, too prone to taking damages from ground objects, and too expensive to have to replace on a regular basis.

Other than that, your list looks good.

Maybe I can work in your pit crew. You can afford me, all I have to do is maintain and tune your R/Cs.

sure savagerocks, you can join me

hey skymaxx, i still am going with the 4 shocks on my savage, but are you saying that 4 shocks is not enough!

ok thanks, yea i am going with the 4 shock set up, but i cannot really seem to find any good buggy shocks that would work, so iam going with the supermaxx shock kit for $68:worship:

Where on earth would you get the idea that I was suggesting more than four shocks? It says "hardy" enough...not "hardly" enough. Trust me. Four buggy shocks will be more than sufficient.

yea your thing about hardly enough made me confused, iam going with the 4 shock setup :)

Open your eyes. It states HARDY (as in tough, resilient, etc). No where does it state hardly enough. Good going with the four shocks. Have fun with your project.

Just my opinion, but the aluminum shock towers are gonna get hosed if you bash. Sure, the stock ones flex, but that is sometimes a good thing. Aluminum bends, and often times doen't unbend without beating the snot out of it. I guess it depends on your style of driving. I beat the piss out of my Savage and aluminum towers wouldn't last me a weekend.

i bash my truck, but not hard like something would bend. usually i go to a friends house and set up jumps in the field

Are they made that much different on a savage as opposed to a maxx? I have an aluminum rear shock tower on my maxx, but I use the plastic body mount posts to give some flexibility. I haven't had a problem, but I have had many less than perfect landings.

I went aluminum because my RPM plastic shock tower was bending so far that it was crushing my fuel tank.

It only took me 7 tanks to realize this. I thought it was from inerta from hard front ended landings. Oh well, live and learn.
