the bevel gear was stipped. the biggest one in the diff. it clicked for a while but the sounds gone now....

the ring gear i assume

id replace them both. anytime you strip one, more than likely the other one is destroyed too.
 
ya i did replace both. but i didint replace the black cup that holds the little gears. and it came with a new one. i wasn't thinking. i dont think it matters though
 
Those little gears in the cup (spider gears?) might start to tear through the cup itself though. Definatly something you should keep an eye on.

Not to correct you, but it's the pin that the two little spider gears ride on that wear grooves in the cup and eventually allow the gears to fall out of alignment. It happens pretty quick on a 21 maxx.
 
i havent had a problem with the cup, except the holes for the ring gear screws stripped out on mine one time.

also i had a spool (man thats not a good hopup) and sheared all the screws right off the spool. couldnt have made a cleaner cut with a laser.
