When I first got the Revo, the truck was good.

Broke it in, and didn't like the engine one bit.

It ran HOT and the quality was terrible.

After breaking in my new OS, you can never go back to that crap, I was ripping at 200F during break in, where the TRX would probably be boggy as hell.

Highly reccomended. With so much power in this engine, I am convinced the RB is big time overkill.

You running at 200F during break-in? That's bad! .. get the temp up to 230 - 250. Even after break-in completed, the tm will rip at 230 or higher.

Everyone has their own method, I ran it at 200-210 for 4 tanks.

Heat cycled.

I plan to run it at 225F once fully broken in, I dont need much more than that.

B:

I won't argue with you. The RB 323 I have is overkill, especially for racing. I love mine, but in all seriousness, unless you are running on sand or other nasty stuff, you will never need that much power to make a Revo fast or quick.

I like both. I am going to race with both to get a better idea of which is better. can't go on anyone elses experiance when most people can't drive.

so what do you guy's think is better for the Revo if you have both on hand BB Hyper.21vs18tm what's going to have more torque for wheelie's and make it an all around bad a*s truck to drive ?

I think cost wise, it would be better to go with the 18tm. I've downloaded a ton of movies watching guys run that engine and it's just nucking futs! Wheelies whenever they want it to and the RPM's it puts out is insane. If I had to bet, I'd say it would beat a typical 21 BB in the revo. It's a lighter engine and keeps the weight low. Running a BB means you have a larger heavier engine on a taller engine mount.

Granted, I don't have one, but watching all those vids has made me start saving $ for a stinking revo... and a 18!

Shut up!!! I don't make fun of your cows hat!

There's just something about the revo that makes you forget about all the t-maxx pains you've endured in the past....

There is no better way to put it then that.

edit... n/m

Screw both the tm and the 21 and get a OS.18TZ

No you have to modify the OS 18TZ to make it fit. I'm going to put the OS .30 in my Revo when it comes out!

With the TZ, you have to cut the crank with a dremal and do some other mods to the engine and clutch.

Personaly, I didn't feel like bothering with all that crap so I got the TM with is a drop in made specificly for the Revo.

Not many mods are necessary. Get the appropriate mount. Buy the cut off nut from AE to make the cut for the shaft if you're unsure of counting threads. The clutchmod, it's just knocking off a corner. BTW, it should be done with the TM as well or the shoes will have a hard time opening. All in all, the mods only take 30 minutes. Not that hard and not a new thing to the experienced r/c model enthusiast. Measure twice, cut once, bang in place ... LOL
