Gonna give brushless a try
I have been slowly buying parts to change the T-Maxx over to brushless

:
I had a free day today so I cleaned up the T-Maxx and started disassembling it, got everything set aside to box up and stick on the shelf.
I got the receiver box and chassis kit new on ebay, picked up the transmission on ebay aswell. Single speed conversion with steel idler, drive gears and FLM motor mount. Snagged the Castle combo and
BEC used for $165 shipped off rctech.
Pulled the transmission apart to confirm the steel gears and see what kind of condition they were in. Looked really good, not much grease though. Drilled out the tranny case holes and pushed some 3mm threaded inserts in them. Greased the gears up and she's ready to go!
The motor and esc wasn't in the best shape but a little TLC and they will be good as new! The deans plug was soldered terribly, switch wires were cut and left twisted together outside of case with no heat shrink over them and the motor wires had a spot rubbed through on each wire. Also the receiver wire on the esc was pinched and the wires were in pretty bad shape.
New receiver wire and soldered the switch wires...All fixed up
Plug wires tinned and ready for a new plug
The shafts that come with the FLM chassis kit are beefy! Really nice and are actually a matching set.
Started assembling the chassis today, just about all I can get done until I get the rest of the parts I need.
