Well, My son is Graduating basic training for the US ARMY on Aug 14th, My wife and I are flying back to watch/camcord this. I can't believe how fast time flys...9 weeks already. He will fly back with us for 8 days and then he goes for his AIT for 26 1/2 weeks, but will be back here for Christmas.

when he gets back i feel sorry for the R/C's I have already got everthing lined up with a bunch of friends to go out and Bash...

Congrats PVT2 Quarles

Congrats to your son what is his MOS gonna be, and where is his AIT at. I was a 63H which is a Track vehicle repairer (yeah I fixed tanks). I went to AIT at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.

Congrats, I'm am a 15H (Aircraft Pneudrualic Repairman). I fix aircraft hydraulic systems and flight control servos. My training came from the Navy, is your son getting into aviation?

Congrats :) I was a 12b10 (combat engineer) I made things go BOOM.

Congrats to your son. With all the bad news that was going on here, I'm glad to hear that there is still good things going on in life.

Congrats to your son. We were told that for every military occupation there's a related civilian occupation. After I got out of the Army, I had the only tank repair shop on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Fortunately I had my secondary training as a flame thrower to fall back on.

Thanks Everyone, his AIT is in FT Gordon, GA. ( I think)....he is a 25S communication with satellites.

I still go thru there on occasion but on the Northeast corridor with freight trains I could never work for Amtrak dealing with all the passengers(stupid people piss me off and I let them know it).

Good for him.....I am on 13 1/2 years of service now. My how time does fly. I hope he makes us all proud.....and I hope he never has to meet me. I am in Combat Search and Rescue and Medivac. ....These things we do...that others my live.....
