Naw, she's only 5 feet long right now. Maybe in a few years when she gets about 8 - 12 feet long then maybe.

That's a happy snake...
Long time no hear. Yeah, she's quite content right now in her tank. She has not moved since I put her in her tank 8 hours ago. She's still alive and breathing but quite content to just let the rat digest.

Cool snake EL, how often do you feed her???

The snake or the rat???

I feed her a medium to large sized rat about every week or so. She's never not eaten when I have offered her food. She kinda knows that if she gets put into the bath tub and there's no water in there she's getting a meal, you should see her as I walk in to drop the rat into the tub.

Before I moved to NC I had a 13 foot female burmese python (as well as 7 others) I fed her a large rabbit every two weeks. Have you ever heard a rabbit screech? What an eerie sound. I really want to get another snake again, I miss all mine, especially now that you're posting snake pics.

So buy one. I have a ball that's for sale, LMK if you want it. I prefer to feed bigger snakes either chickens or piglets, they're cheaper.

My pet store had feeder rabbits in the back they were only like 8 bucks.

I was thinking more along the lines of getting another red tail. I had a peruvian red tail when I was in Florida, that was one of my favorites. I also had a pair of ball pythons, they don't get big enough for me though, I like the larger constrictors.

I always liked boas best. They don't get as big as a burmese or a retic but are not as small or timid as a ball. The ball I have now I found one morning outside of one of the Army barracks on Fort Useless. I was walking up at O'dark hundred and saw it laying on the steps to the barracks, appearantly one of the soldiers pets that got away. I snatched it up and took it inside with me. the thing was icy cold. As it warmed up from my body heat it's skin began to sweat like a cold drink on a hot day.

A few weeks later I got wind of the owner trying to get in touch with me and get his snake back. I wanted to play tough guy and tell him he should have cared for his snake better but he had to bring up my integrity. Man that was it. I told him he was going to break my daughter's heart as she had fallen in love with our new pet but I agreed to meet the owner to give him his snake back. The time came and went with no phone calls, nada.

Finally about a month later I met him in person and he said I could keep the snake, which at this point in time I had already bought 2 boas as replacements to the ball that I was giving him. Now I had 3 snakes to keep. I still want to sell the ball because they are not as much fun as boas to play with.

My wife was always afraid of my two big burms, so I sold them before our son was born, I really liked them but with small kids they are not a good mix. I really like Boas though, like you said not too big not too small. Plus they have great dispositions. I did have one mean ass boa though, didn't have him long. Now I am down to just one iguana.

Might as well suggest he get a crocodile...monitors can grow big and mean, too.

I had a Savannah as well as a black and white tegu. It cost me more to feed the Savannah than it did to feed the big burms. It was nasty as hell too, needless to say I did not have him long. I had a caiman too when I lived in Florida, that was a cool pet. I was the only one who he would let handle him, I really miss him, Wally was a bad ass! He ate about 75-100 feeder goldfish a week. I had a reptile zoo, it was alot of work ,but alot of enjoyment too. We gotta stop this, I am getting the retile joneses bad!

Thats cool, my friend had one was a Boa too. It was 5 ft long. Ate rabbits, we always had a bet on how fast and what tactics he would use. Always a hilarious event!
