My Savage pics

I used to do this for airplane instrument panels on anything that had see-through windows. I don't know why I never thought of doing it for cars before.
It's gonna' be beautiful in yours with the seats and all the other interior detail. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
 
Rolex, what paint did you use for the roll cage/bar and the bumpers and the rims?
Also, is it good to have a fuel filter in the pressure tube and 2 in the fuel tube?
 
The rims are stock. I don't remember what the brand of silver paint was, but it was labled 'chrome' and I got it at Hobbytown USA.
No problem with running 2 filters. Some people even run an empty filter in the pressure line to smooth out the flow rather than have it puffing with every stroke.

I use to run two filters on the delivery side and one on the pressure line. It worked especially for those that like to plug up their exhaust to stop the engine. I saw nothing wrong with it. Normal maintenance is always needed for these little guys.

So by emety fuel filters, u mean fuel filters without the filter? Just the metal part?

Ok i might do that as well. But i imagine that no dirt would get inside the filter on the pressure tube. Right?
 
You would be surprised. I would clean them depending on how long till you chek them and also the area you run in. When I ran in the desert in Palmdale, ALL THREE got some debris. Just maintain your ride.
 
The clear one you see has a fine screen on the bottom. That's the one you should install in the pressure line with the screen towards the tank. If you summersault and get your pipe in the dirt, some of it can be sent back into the tank.
The LHS only had one when I was there last, so I still need to get another one for the return.
No need to spend money on a really good filter like a big daddy for the pressure line, since you want an empty tank to smooth out the puffing.

Sure, the rabbit got here early. Last night he barfed on my tires. Yeah, pics coming. If that fat bastard in the red suit brought it, I'd be running red springs and green tubing.

I keep forgetting to mention something that happened the day I installed all the alloy parts.
After all those hours of wrenching I started to put away all the screws that were replaced by machine screws, and the assortment of tools and stock Savage parts, thread loc and all the rest.
I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to, but as I started to get the area cleared out and getting all the parts in their proper place I found myself wondering what "those 3 things" were, and where did they come from.

Two words:
Dog bones.

I had remembered to re-install one, anyway.

Your truck is looking sweet Rolex! When do you think she will see the dirt?
I'm hoping I will be done with the break in on mine tomorrow.
As much as I hate break-in, Its kinda nice to be able to look at the thing zipping around and know that it all paid off.
By that I mean all the cash put into the hobby

Other than waiting for a few trim items, I'd say it's all ready to go.
I no longer have a lawn and a driveway, but live in an apartment complex, otherwise it would have been running the same day I brought it home.
Hopefully this weekend will be it's break in. I'm close to a grand into it and I've never even heard the starter spin.

Anything for a chuckle, Bryson. I'm waiting on a few more little jelly beans for it.
 
Since you are going to use the Rotostarter, I would suggest getting some decent packs for it. If you do intend to be on the street, I would suggest getting some on-road tires and rims. Sometimes its just hard to find a decent place to run so the street is the only option.

BTW..Reading your thread makes me want to get a Savage
