I've done alot of business with rc-mall myself, good people! GPM I run a set of their arms on a rs4. amazing how closely they resemble another set of aluminum arms I got from hotbodies.Top stuff, agreed.

Here's the latest update for those of you that think I've been slacking:

Took off most of the top end. Roll bar, head protector, bumpers and stripped out the electronics.
Top_teardown.jpg

Added the alloy tank guard and fuel lid.
Cap_and_guard.jpg

Replaced the throttle linkage with 4-40 threaded rod covered with shrink tubing and added ball connectors.

I moved the battery monitor and return line filter to a safer place, under the roll bar.
Linkage_ball_cups.webp

I changed to a 3 connector switch that never needs to be disconnected to charge the battery. The lead you see allows it to charge when it's in the "Off" position, and it's convenient to get to.
Edit: where you see the green light, it should say 'Battery Monitor'

Electronics.jpg

The reason I did this is because you can not turn the receiver on or off without removing the body. The new switch was moved to the front bumper where it's readily accessible.

The wires run through a tube into the electronics tray.

The roll cage and bumpers were stripped and repainted with a pewter paint and then given 2 coats of clear lacquer for a really beautiful sheen that won't dull when touched.
I guess you've also noticed that it's being "De-pinked". I'm waiting on a polished aluminum head from Nova.

Other than that, I've just cut out the new display body and given the roof lights their first coat. These lids are no longer available due to licensing rights, and are hard to get. Thanks to ImBroken for hooking me up with it. This lid will not see dirt, ever, so it's in for a custom paint job just for the bling of it. It's the old Dodge Power Wagon with the crew cab. Also extremely rare in 1:1.

Shaweeet!

I'm lovin' all the conveniance touches.. they will really come in handy when you take it off the shelf and pass it around for show & tell on the 4th of July. You can show people that the wheels DO INDEED TURN

How about a light kit?? eh? do it. dooo it... DOOOOO IT!

How about a light kit?? eh? do it. dooo it... DOOOOO IT!

I've been kicking the idea around since I have 2 complete lighting kits, not yet installed in the big Cessna. I have the landing lights and the marker lights. I also dug out my collection of LEDs and micro switches,
SOOooooo, we'll see. (in the dark)

do it that would be tight. any idea what kinda money you got sunk into it you have by far the nicest savage i have ever seen so when is the truck gonna se dirt??

I've reached the 1200 mark, but I still have to get a few more parts. I'll be getting a Nova head since ACNCM didn't have one to fit the new 4.6 yet. That was the first thing I ordered.

Dirt? What's dirt? Will it slide off a well waxed item?

lol it might but you know we all wanna see this baby move is it ever gonna get 4 tires on the grass

Hell rolex, just to test your savage take it off a 12' jump into a a crap load of mud, then you can test you wax job and durability, poop, i did it again, i will go and wipe the drool off.

Looking good Rolex.... Glad to see the lid paired with such a nice truck...

And I seriously thank you for selling it. I have a Hummer H2 that was going to be it's 'dress' lid, but I couldn't get inspired. The instant I saw the photo of the green one in your ad I knew I found it.
I looked through hundreds of photos of 1:1 Power Wagons, and only found ONE with the crew cab, so this one is also very rare in full scale.
This paint job might take a while, but it will be the keeper.

I've been working on it all day today. Most of the detail work is done, and so far I'm really pleased with it.
I'll probably have some pics here sometime tomorrow.
Now I understand why NCNitro was nominated as the painting guru. His work is spectacular, and details take a LOT of patience and work.

Screw the detail work! It's overated anyways! Just spray that sucker so we can just jump ahead to telling you how much you suck.

Actually, now that I think of it... that's been started already. Oh wait, it's Sunday now. Yep, we need to start over.

You suck, stop stalling.

UPDATE.....Dodge Power Wagon Shelf Queen Lid

Finally, whew. This was an 18 hour job yesterday, and I still need to clean up the edges and detail the winch from the outside, but here it is.

Cut and fit, ready to mask...

Chrome strips in pickup bed.

The color is turquoise with a misting of blue metalflake sprayed first.
I photographed it against 4 different colored backgrounds, but the flash
seems to favor the blue.

Still have to detail the winch.

Other than that, it's finished.

The fenders are pearl, and the color here is pretty accurate. (The fenders)

Gorgeous! Great job on the grill! That's really nice bro. I'm really diggin' the realistic wood beds a couple of you guys have done.

Thanks, guys. I just noticed that in the last pic, on the top left, the color reflecting on the tool box is getting pretty close to the real thing. With the turquoise and blue flake, with a black backing, it's actually an incredibly beautiful teal. As usual, some paint jobs don't do well on camera.
I chose that color with the pearl fenders because it would be a very warm match to the walnut bed that was my primary goal from day one.

I ran one of the shots through PhotoShop and adjusted it as close as I could get it to the actual color.

Color_2.webp

It's hard to believe how blue the previous shots look. This is the only time I've been unable to get the correct color in a shot.
That'll teach me not to do a custom mix.
