Here's the latest update for those of you that think I've been slacking:
Took off most of the top end. Roll bar, head protector, bumpers and stripped out the electronics.
Added the alloy tank guard and fuel lid.
Replaced the throttle linkage with 4-40 threaded rod covered with shrink tubing and added ball connectors.
I moved the battery monitor and return line filter to a safer place, under the roll bar.
I changed to a 3 connector switch that never needs to be disconnected to charge the battery. The lead you see allows it to charge when it's in the "Off" position, and it's convenient to get to.
Edit: where you see the green light, it should say 'Battery Monitor'
The reason I did this is because you can not turn the receiver on or off without removing the body. The new switch was moved to the front bumper where it's readily accessible.
The wires run through a tube into the electronics tray.
The roll cage and bumpers were stripped and repainted with a pewter paint and then given 2 coats of clear lacquer for a really beautiful sheen that won't dull when touched.
I guess you've also noticed that it's being "De-pinked". I'm waiting on a polished aluminum head from Nova.
Other than that, I've just cut out the new display body and given the roof lights their first coat. These lids are no longer available due to licensing rights, and are hard to get. Thanks to ImBroken for hooking me up with it. This lid will not see dirt, ever, so it's in for a custom paint job just for the bling of it. It's the old Dodge Power Wagon with the crew cab. Also extremely rare in 1:1.
