I've been haveing a bit of problems out of my savage ss.. it seems that every time i drive it i have to spend like two tanks to tune it.. i have replaced the lines and reseated the carb.. i dont think i have a air leak, i blew through the exaust side of the the fuel lines.. and i couldnt blow through it.. I've taken the carb all apart and cleaned it all and put it back together i can't get it to idlel worth a crap.. some times it revs up on its own.. I've reset to factory settings so many times i have it memorized.. its a hpi .25 the one on my buggy will run all day fine and idle no probs.. i can't figure it out and its really bothering me!! last time i ran it i had it running fine and today, after changing to a smaller clutch bell even, it wont take off for anything and it wont shift.. i tuned on it for two tanks and give up cause it was getting dark and i had other stuff to do.. anyone have any ideas?? maby i can sent it to jon2 or plaid or rolex and they can tune it and send it back?? oh it sucks.. i drove like 8 tanks in the buggy sunday with no problems and it has the same motor!!
 
sending it to someone else wont solve anything if they re not in your location they be tuning it to their location and weather and tuning will be off.

make sure the fuel cap is all the way down, that happened to me once, and check out the back plate seal it all up with RTV if its still running poorly throw it of a cliff
 
just take it to ur LSH........i had the problems with my savage 25........i wish i wuld of sent if to my LSH cuz now it has a seized engine!!! but thats ok i got my Wasp .28 today!!!

Seal the backplate and the carb with RTV. You should also install a new glow plug. Make sure there are no air bubbles in the fuel line. Make sure the air filter is clean.
 
zandor if i do that ill drive it off.. it would run long enough for that..
 
You have an airleak or maybe a radio problem. Seal the backplate and the carb neck. Check the fuel inlet for leaks. Replace the glow plug, check the tank for leaks. Partially submerge the tank (just below the cap), blow in the pressure line and plug up the fuel output line. Check for leaks.

Make sure your linkage is not binding.
 
linkage was loose so it was only opening 1/2 way.. but i fixed that.. i blew through the pressure line and it would build up pressure but i couldnt blow through it i took the carb off and reseated it.. i guess ill have to rtv it.. and check the tank.. it has a dent in it from a shock screw and a bad landing but i didnt think it went through.. maby it did..
 
Buy a T-Maxx and then you can have more than one reason to be pissed off Lmao!
 
If you partially submerge the tank like I said you would know if the tank had a leak. Seal the backplate when you are sealing the carb.

I am starting to suspect a radio or linkage problem. Run the motor with the radio and receiver OFF. Control the motor speed by hand by spinning the throttle servo with your hand. See if you have the racing idle problem when controlling the motor manually.
 
make sure the linkage screw isn't to tight that connects the carb,brake and throttle linkage. it wont akt right if it's to tight
 
its not the radio because i can make it stop by richening the lsn but then it runs like poopy if i lean it out it will idle for a second the rev up i tap the gas and it will work right for a sec then rev up again.. but with it richened it still idles rough its not a smooth purr..
 
ok on the lsn it says three out form snug but mine never snugs up.. it will start pushing the carb slide out.. is this normal?? did i fubar it?? HELP!!
 
nm guess i should follow the linkys befor opening my mouth.. lol thanks rossb
