Man those rocks make me horny. Also, does anyone else notice that in the 5th pic from the top, it looks like a huge bullfrog sitting on top of the mountain?

Is this that crater place you've been telling me about, or volcano or whatever that you've been wanting to make the trip too?

nope, the Crater is about 5 minutes from my house and is HUGE!!!! its a big hole in the ground and is like a mile from one end to the other. i have gone and looked at it though but i think it would be a job for a super.

I wish I had more terrain for a super, I would love to build one just to play around with. I like the 2.2 class for the competition aspect, but I'm really wanting to build a super rig just to take out and bash around with, probably 14-16 inch wheelbase.

yeah man, the Crater would be perfect for a super, maybe even really challenging. I've really been looking at the XTM, i want a trailfinder kit but a super might be funner first.

Yeah that's a tough decision. The Super will definitely cost a good bit more money. It all comes down to what you're into and what you'll get the most enjoyment out of. I chose the scaler first for a few reasons. First, our crawling club has a lot of scaler g2g's in Louisiana. We have lots of great places to take the trucks out on the trails, and things like that. I have 60 acres of trails as well as a large creek running through the property in my backyard. Also, I am into fullsize cars and trucks, and the scalers are the only thing that actually represents that to the fullest, right down to the scale shock stickers, etc...

Also, I LOVE to tinker and work on my rigs, thats the favorite part of RC. With a scaler, you never finish it, there will always be something to fabricate, something to change, something to add, something to build better, etc... Also, its going to help improve my fabricating and welding skills with the small stuff.

The last thing is that I just don't have the terrain to run a Super, without driving at least a few hours. The closest spot, and one of the only natural crawling spots that I know of near me, is about an hour and 15 minutes away. That means I have to have at least 3 hours of spare time just to get back and fourth to the crawl spot, and then whatever time I spend crawling. I just don't have that kind of time. Our club has gone almost completely to 2.2 rigs, the last comp that I was at had one super in attendance, and it was in the guys truck.

So, those are the things that I considered when I got ready to buy my most recent crawler, and that's why I decided on the trailfinder.

^^^yeah and i figure they are both around the same price once its all said and done, add electronics to the XTM and body to the trailfinder and they are both a real nice chunk of change so it is definatly gonna be a well thought out deal.

I'm thinking the Super is probably going to be quite a bit more actually, when you figure the electronics. You can't get away with these $12 servos on a super lol, you're looking at $300 in servos.

oh^^^ yeah never even thought about that, see lol, I've looked at the trailfinder alot more.

Thanks Chip, that price list really give a great guide to go by. We were trying to compare it with a $600 scaler, so that really helps out a lot. Chip, do you have some good places down there to run a Super rig?
