My revo only goes in reverse after installing forward only kit help

Hi, I'm new to the hobby, just got a used revo 3.3 off of eBay n decided to install the front only conversion kit, once I did that car only goes in reverse and it shifts trough two speeds as well, as per instructions I took out all the reverse mechanisam from the tranny. is it possible that the front n rear differentials have been turned to 180 ?? Help please!
 
lol thats pretty funny. i have never heard this before. did you take out all the white gears and put the foc in

can you take the tranny apart and get us pict and take pict of what you took out

No, to the diffs thing for sure

Did u run it before you fitted the FOC kit ??

Also, is the engine running the right way ? the engine should turn clockwise looking from the rear of the engine forwards (as in stand behind it and see if the engine turns clockwise when its running)

It's Just a thought about the engine running backwards and something i would check before going any further (i started my buggy engine backwards with my starter box once. never did it again either, once was enough of an embarrassment)
 
Yes It ran before the foc just fine, I looked at the instructions on how to do the foc and YouTube as well I'm pretty sure that I did everything accordingly n correct,
I use ezstart factory to start it would it b possible to start it the wrong way with ez start?? I'll check on that as well,
 
did u look at the Traxxas.com website,look under exploded veiws under REVO 3.3 at transmission assembly maybe put some thing the wrong way,and if u did that tranny can't sound to good right now.but then again I never heard of it going in reverse after putting in a FOC.

did u take your easy start off,if u did make make sure ur ONE WAY BEARING is on the right way,I think it should spin on the shaft freely in a counter clockwise position.
 
i dont think the engine is running backwards. make sure its turning conter clock wise.

That is the only thing that I can think of--the OWB is in backward and the mill is running backward. If all the reverse gears are gone then how could it possibly run in reverse? Especially into second gear!

If the OWB is backwards, the starter would lock. The starter motor is still turning the right way. In reverse, you could still shift. If you had your diffs out, it's possible you installed them upside down.

But either way you are right about the Easy Start only spinning one way. Unless he wired it backward... ;)

You are surely correct about the diffs being in upside down. I never thought to ask if he had removed them...
 
Maybe your body and wing are on backwards? Lol jk.

I don't own a Revo, but I would check again that everything is put in the right way. If not then maybe the differentials are put in the wrong way.
 
take the trany apart and post some picts. he said he stuck the foc in his self
 
not really you pretty much pull out the reverse gear whitch is all on the frount of the trany and then you pull out 2 gears on the back and put the new gears in
 
The engine turns THAT way. That makes the spur turn THAT way. In turn that makes the main shaft turn THAT way. That makes the drive shafts turn THAT way.
The FIRST thing you run into that would make the wheels turn THIS way, instead of THAT way would be the diffs.

The only reason i asked is because you would think it would be possible to leave reverse in and take out forward.... no?
