So I was around back bashing just a few minutes ago, when I gave it WOT, the front end came up and I saw a tire foam fly into the air. I shut it down and to my suprise, I found on a rear tire that the sidewall had completely seperated from the rest of the tire. I have never seen this before... I was laughing and angry at the same time. How can this happen?! It was almost a perfect line of seperation around the rim. I suppose there is a first time for everything.

the same happen to me but mine was a tmax 3.3 but i just got a revo 3.3 last night aned wen i went to brake it in on the 5th tank the push rod end broke and tore the hell out of everything:angry: it sucks but traxxas is sending me all new parts for free but the traxxas tires SUCK man get some good ones!!!!!! that is what I'm going to do

I had an issue with factor glued tires from Traxxas. They separated just from shear g-force from running 40+mph

I have had the same thing happen with my tmaxx 3.3. I was making a high speed turn, the inside rear tire came off the ground and then the tire split in the sidewall. The tread flew off and landed afew feet away!
The stock tires have decent bite but the sidewalls are pretty thin. I replaced all four with Axial 40 series beadlockers and proline MOAB tires. A huge world of difference in handling, bite and control! Definately worth the investment.

So, did it come unglued or did it the tire actually tear?

I'm not sure why they went with a buggy style bead on their tires. I'm sure it helps something... but I've never had the glue hold very well on them without really sanding the entire bead of the tire and as well as I could in the crevice that it goes in on the rim and using a good medium thickness glue.

I've had tires tear, but it's usually due to the rim cutting the tire from running on concrete. The plastic bead of the rim pinches the rubber so hard that it cuts it like a pizza cutter. Then a cut causes a tear that usually ends the tire after a short time.
