My pull starter leaks fuel or oil. Its not the exhaust header, thats dry, its leaking all around the pull starter. Seals most likely? Should I replace the seals or RTV it? Thanks all.

EDIT: Forgot to say that it was a 3.3.

Is it leaking from the starter shaft or between the crank case and backplate?

If it's leaking out of the starter shaft area, then you will probably need a new starter shaft, backplate and maybe a new OWB.

If it's leaking between the crank case and backplate, then take it apart, check the screws holding the backplate on to see if they are loose. If they aren't, then take the backplate off, clean it and the crank case, then put RTV around the perimeter of the crank case and backplate and put it back together. Let it cure for 24 hours before running it.

Also, you may want to check your crank case for cracks. Clean the engine really good and inspect it.

Fixin to take it apart in a bit. All I can see from the outside is wetness and the pull cord is soaked. This will be the the 3rd engine that "Ill Tempered" has chewed up and spit out, lol.
