I was "trying" to start my engine. i havent started my engine for a while already. Its been a couple of months and now i want to start again. :) and again i was pulling my pull start. i smelt the gas rising out from my exaust. so i thought it will start soon. so then i kept pulling and then boom. my string snapped.

When it snapped it came out to 5 in of the string. now i dont know what to do. i have a Nitro Star Pro 12 R RC Evolution II Pull-Start, what should i do?????

I noticed in another thread that you were interested in the roto-start system. You could replace the pull start with that.

You could also go to your LHS and ask them for a replacement string and re-spool your pull start (not an easy task, but do-able).

Or you could just buy an entirely new pull start for your engine.

The choice you make will be determined by the depth of your pockets.

well hey..... i got 300 dollars for christmas and ill do whatever to spend on my r/c to make it more reliable and faster to run.

and i think this roto system would be the best answer.

am i right??

The roto-start is a great starter system. Everyone that I have come across who owns one, can't say enough good things about it. I personally have never owned one, and am partial to pull starts (keeps the forearms buffed).

my opinion of the roto start... it is a very good development and you should consider it as its only 55 bucks and as soon as i touch the button my car starts unless i have a dead glow plug LOL

I'm with sky. With maintainence, a pull start will always be your friend. Unless you run a bump start (starter box), your always going to have to deal with the woes of a one-way bearing. It makes sense to me to not use any type of powered starter. It's just more stuff to maintain. Considering you need to clean the one-way periodicaly with the roto-start, Traxxas easy start or a pull start. A pull start just has less moving parts and pieces to wear or break. When your arm gets tired, rest. When your EZ-start battery goes dead, wait for 2 hours for it to charge, then hope it works.

Besides, with a well tuned engine, more than 5 pulls is excessive.
