For those of you wondering (if any) of why I havent been around much, let me explain.

1. When I left for California in the beginning of October, we (my wife and I) were HEAVILY looking for a house so we could be in by Christmas for our 3 children.

2. The day after I got back from California, we found the house and entered into contract. Thus, the fun begins.

3. A few days after I got back from California, all hell broke loose. My 8 year old daughter ended up in the hospital with seizures that to this day are unexplained. However, they arent hapening any more and thats the best case scenario. Today though, she is running a temp of 102 and fighting off a viruse that everybody else in the house has either had or is coming down with. There is a big flu outbreak in this area.

4. The pissing match between the seller and I has begun. Not bad at all, but, there were some things I requested be done to the house BEFORE we close. Needless to say, most of the work is now done.

5. I 'should' have my letter of commitment for closing on Monday. SHOULD! Everyone tells me that 'something' will pop up so I guess Monday will tell.

6. We currently live with our in-laws and pay half the bills. Us moving seems to be causing some friction.... I think they like us being here.... I dont know. But either way, they are a HUGE Italian family and have more parties than you can handle. This is creating issues for Thanksgiving. We are currently packing all our poop, the house is a mess and we dont know if we can be out in time for their Thanksgiving get-together (every year it turns out 60 people). Just more chaos.....

7. Work has been jam packed full of projects both big and small since my return from California. I'm currently implementing a true rolling transactional database accross a WAN between here and Atlanta (almost a Terrabyte of data to boot!), merging with our corporate AD Forest (yes, we did it before our parent office which pissed a bunch of people off!), and in the middle of these 2 big projects are TONS of daily small ones. To include a SAS70 report assessment by Deloite and Touche (one of the Big 4 for security audits). But hey, If I can pass a Big 4 security audit and have a SAS70 in my posession, I can tell the biggest of the big that they need not even step foot through my doors. Pretty cool eh?

I still visit the site daily, in fact many times per day. I read everything but just havent been posting like normal. For those of you who miss me, well, I miss you too! And for those of you who dont know me, hopefully you will get to soon. I miss being as involved as I usually am and expect to be back to normal by the 1st of the year. Until then, just know that I'm still around but not as active as usual.

Ok, Group Hug!

lol

-Chris

Well Chris...good luck with everything...I am sure everything will work out in the end... Sucks when things get stresful...but when you look back it will all be worth it.

sLY

Congrats with the Active Directory migration before the main office. It's always nice to be the first one done and have it done right. Good luck with the house and I hope everyone gets bettter. When we just had that group hug, I could swear you just grabbed my ass.:doc:

I thought those were your nuts! Dude you better hit the gym! Your ass is getting floppy!

That was my ass!
I'm still trying to figure out what I was grabing. I think it was NCs...

The story has been a brutal one for me as well for the last month and a half.
About 2 months ago just before the Ca bash I dropped 80% of my accounts in order to restructure my business. 80% of the work lode was only accounting for 30% of my profits.

About 30 days ago I started looking for retail space to open outlet stores for my products, something that hasn’t been done in my industry before. I have little to no experience in retail sales, management or operations. I have had to start learning from the ground floor.

Careful what you wish for. My business plan calls for 6 stores by the end of 2004. The major roadblock is finding good locations. Here in CA they are hard to come by and need to be taken when they become available. Well, 3 became available at one time. Needless to say I tried to do too much at one time and backed out of all but one. Now I'm in the process of setting up the first store.

To further complicate the situation, Ironic to Chris’s living situation. I found out my mother is coming to live with us for an un-determined amount of time. Chris, Can my mom come and live with yours?

Similar to Chris, I have been reading the forums and doing housekeeping duties as needed. For all of the new members, I look forward to getting to know all of you as soon as my schedule slows down a bit. Give it a month or so and I’m hoping to be back to normal.

I would like to thank NC Nitro and SkyMaxx for picking up the slack in modding the forum.

Hope all goes well with the move and I hope your daughter gets to feeling better. Sounds like you have alot on your plate right now and I'm sure it's really stressfull. Good luck with it and we'll take care of things here while you're away =devil

Oh, and HB, don't even act like you didn't cop a feel during our group hug..............

Flyin to HB::wedgie: LOL Chris, I hope your daughter gets to feel better. My mom has the same thing happen every 4 months or so, I kno what its like. Not fun. Stay strong and make sure to move into that house so us RCNT users in cali can bash with you :radio:

See - we all truly love one-another! I love this place!

Eddy - Send her on out! Ill hook her up with my mother-in-law and they can be old complaining birds together! lololol

Gotta love 'em though!

Thanks for all the support! Great crew I tell ya' GREAT CREW!

Good luck with the move.... It's gonna be a cold one.... Also, glad to hear your daughter is doing well. The house will be ready for East Coast Bash '04 right? lol You are taking the bidet, right?

All kiddin aside, hope everything goes smoothly... I'm in the process of a fully remodeling my kitchen, & I'm just about burnt out... In my line of work (HVAC), this cold weather brings CHAOS...

I wish I was bringing the Bidet..... However, there will be 3 bathrooms at the new place! And........a theatre room! Boooyaa!

We will need to remodel our kitchen as well, but not until next year. As for move-in-ready, the only thing we have to do is recarpet and paint. Everything else is good to go. I will do the theatre room in the basement over the winter :bling:

And you bet, it will be ready for the 04 bash alright!

It sounds like your ducks are in a row, Christian. Congrats on the new house!

My son had some febrile seizures when he was sick and about eight years old. He's fifteen now and hasn't had any since.

That may or may not be of some consolation.

I felt somebody's hand on MY ass... It might have been my own.

Congrats on the house, I know what you are going thru considering I went thru it in April of this year. New built house and alot of bull. Hope your daughter gets well, me and my wife have a 4 year old that has breathing problems. When she was about 2 years we had to have a Neubulizer because she would start coughing real bad and not being able to breath so we had to but this stuff called abuterol in the machine and it would take care of the problems. But like I said she is 4 now and she is finally growin out of it and I hope your daughter will do the same. Hang in there it sounds like your a great father and and a smart man and you can take what life dishes you. Good Luck Bro

Congrats on the new home!
Hope all goes well with your daughter, I am sure it will all smooth out for you! Being in the home construction buisness myself I know all about the fun as well as headaches a new house can bring, from closing day to finishing day, it always seems to be a never ending project, I have been remodeling my house for almost three years now(doing it all myself) and sometimes I just gotta put the hammer away before I throw it through a wall!
Good luck!, and once again my best wishes go out to you and your whole family!

Wow it sounds like both of you have a lot on your plates. Real life / family comes before anything else.

Enjoy the move Chris. I helped a good friend move in the middle of December. What a PITA!

Hey Chris! Congats and good luck. You've just married another... I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I need to be out of this apartment and into the house by Nov. 30. I still need to finish re-rockin the bedroom, spackle, paint, carpet, and all that happy stuff. The new bedroom set gets delivered on the 22nd. Good luck to me as I work my job by day and re-model the house at night. I've already had my new living room furniture delivered and is now sitting in the garage. I have some one painting my living room and dining area cause I just don't have time. The kitchen and upper bath both need to be re-done. But just like you, it will wait untill next year. So I guess this is good luck to both of us! I have a funny feeling the woman and I will be sleeping on the floor or something like that for a while. Lol!!

Also, try to keep the windows cracked open to let the FLU germs out. I know it's chilly up there, but it does help.

Lots a luck to ya...

Its amazing what a 'normal bunch of people we all are isnt it?!?!?

Albuteral - What I am taking now since I think I am the one that brought it home - 3 weeks and counting with this bug!!! WTF! I couldnt imagine making a child go through it! God bless!

Remodeling sucks! The only thing good about it is the fact that when you are done you can take pride in your work! The good part is, there is not much to be done. The carpeting and paint throughout I am contracting. Painting trim makes me want to beat someone down and carpeting I dont have a clue! Everything else my wife and I are doing. She wont pickup a hammer but her mouth will be in every step of the projects I'm sure lol

My daughter is feeling MUCH better as of last night. It appears this bug gets through kids quicker than adults. Thank god! And the cans of Lysol have been a hot commodity around here, along with the fresh ICE COLD air hehehe

I'm going to post some pics of the house for you all today. They are the ones from the on-line sale, but I should be going to take some of my own tomorrow. Keep y'all posted.

Best of luck to all of you with your own home projects! May Tim Allen guide us!
