DarkEnergy, sorry...

I’m screwed on my build.

I forgot to put the head lamps on the front bumper. Now I can’t figure out what way the truck is supposed to go...... DAMN!!!

I had the same problem. Here is a short instructional video that may help you out.

Wouldn’t that just freak you out seeing that flying down the road... Great find.

Well....... I’m done with the build and am going to fire it up later today. Looking at the carb settings I can see that if flush is factory for break-in then every needle is set WAY to rich. They are far from flush up to 1.5 turns on the LSN, 1 full turn on the mid, and 1.5 turns from the line on the HSN.

I think Ill set them back to factory settings and go from there.

Just got done with the first tank.
I hooked the glow stick up and it fired up on the first pull. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!! I had nightmares of blisters during brake-in. It ran the entire tank and never died out. I did raise the idle screw a half turn to get it a bit over normal idle as the book wants it to be. Never got over 112 during this tank. I'm letting it rest and will go for #2. I'm following the book on this one rather then doing a heat cycle as I normally do.

It might be wise to get the temps up a bit higher for break in. You dont want to wear the cylinder too much.

112 is waaaaay too low. It needs to be in the 200-205 range to properly break it in. You can do just as much damage to the mill this way as you can running it too hot. I heat cycle break in all my mills and have always had great luck with them. Hell, the original .15 fe from my RS4 3 will still fire up in under 3 pulls more than 5 years later, and who knows how much fuel. My S-25 in my Savage SS would wheelie on command with 15-49 gearing all day, it's now over 3 years old and numerous gallons and was still strong as hell until the pull start broke, so I just threw an Ofna Picco .26 in it. The Ofna .26 I broke in for a friend will flip the truck on it's lid real quick and never runs hot. My WS7II is an animal and it's only on about it's tenth tank and stays around 230-240 after wide open runs. But I don't have much fuel run through it yet so I'll have to see how that one lasts. But no matter what you need to get the temps up, AND vary the rpms, which idling through a tank does not accomplish, to properly break it in. NOOB!

I leaned it out quite a bit for the 2nd tank an ran it stop and go at around 205-210. Hell with the book I didn't feel comfortable at the lower temps either. Time for the 3rd.

i would go with rpm arms......stockers are excelent but they have alot of play in them. rpm arms are supposed to be thicker so there isn't as much play. also the ofna throttle mod would be a nice mod. other than that its a really stout truck. good luck w/ it bud.

These parts have saved my sanity.

New Sav X bulkheads, and radio box for far quicker equipment access. You'll need the new shock towers for the bulkheads.

RC Screwz stainless screw set.

Nova head, it doesn't bend during a wreck. Mine just has some minor scratches after some fairly hard hits.

HPI hex conversion, and Hellfire (Aero) wheels. Haven't stripped one yet.

Rubber radio switch cover.

A pile of shims

I have been trying to bomb proof mine for over a year, and these stick out the most in my mind. PM me if you want some of the stranger fixes I've made.

Have the shims, Ordered an X Double slipper / spur Setup, and looked at the new style radio box. Ill get the radio box sooner then later. The bulks and other X parts Ill hang till I need to replace them.

I got 6 tanks into her as of today and shes starting to light up now. Temps are hold ing solid at 240-260 depending on how hard I get into it. I'm happy so far.
