well i traded my 2009 emaxx for this tmaxx, it needed allot of work yesterday i tore the truck apart, and cleaned and cleaned all day long, but i was having problems with trying to keep a idle, wouldnt stay running, nothing but problems

well took the engine and ez start to the shop and right away, guy says it was overheated, run to rich, failed the leak test and compression test, and the ezstart failed on the bench

so here it is minus the engine

Looks like the heads leaking. I'd replace the shim, seal it up, and give it a shot. What's wrong with the ez start? There isn't much too em, so a repair shouldn't be too hard. Most people use a separate glow ignitor to heat the plug, as opposed to the ez start system. As long as you don't try and crank a flooded engine, the ez start holds up well for cranking duties.

when he had it on the bench it blew apart...lol.....so I'm just going to order a complete new system, i have the engine in mind it is the dynamite replcement, and then I'm going to replace the flywheel and the clutch assembly

why not right new engine might as well put new parts on so it will last a long time

Always nice to start out with an engine you broke-in. Just make sure you take your time and do it right so it treats you well.

I haven't really read anything bad about the dynamite 19, other than it doesn't fit the starter real well. They have an updated one out that fits better though. May want to check horizon as I believe they have info there about it. I think if you end up with the wrong one, they will ship you the parts to make it the right one.

You in Chicago or just near it? What's your LHS of choice?

i live in cicero, and fiance lives in nw indiana, out by me i always hit leisure hour shop out here i hit g&g hobby both real good shops

I work in Broadview. Not sure what g&g is, never heard of it. Al's in downtown elmurst is pretty good. I go there on my lunch to pick up odds and ends and fuel. I get most of my parts (the few I buy at an LHS) out at RC Hobbies in aurora off 59/88.

I'm pretty sure there used to be a group of people that ran at a park in berwyn, which isn't too far from you. Shoot me a PM and I can maybe find the map/link I have. I've never gone as it's quite a ways for me to go on a weekend.

g&g is in griffith indiana, like 15 mins from fiance house, great guys there
i would like to race around town here, i go play around at the parking lot at my house, its big and plenty of room

aurura is to far for me to go get parts, leisure hour is in joliet i work in joliet so it takes me 20 mins in traffic from work, now thats a nice place so many parts i could walk out of there a poor man lol

Al's is like that... I go in there for fuel and I'll be damned if I don't walk out of there at least $100 poorer. These guys would make a killing if they ever decided to sell crack!

i do agree, that why every hobby has a price but this hobby you can spend money and not really break the bank parts are cheap

I agree with you that the parts are cheap. but just like adding water in a glass, they do add up. Pretty soon those $6, 8 or $10 part will add to $100 or even more. But there is something about the smell and noise of a nitro engine that is addicting. I could only wish I had somebody to race or bash around with my tmaxx. I don't feel like joining a race club yet. I'm curious why did you traded your emaxx to a tmaxx? It's like going retro? But I'm pretty sure your reasons are good enough. I'm also sure you will enjoy your tmaxx as I also have. I have the original TRX .15 and also acquired a 3.3 with only the pullstart. I paid the price for having a pullstart as I currently have 4 blisters on my right fingers. No pain, no gain..........and no engine starting as well for me. Oh well back to tearing, cleaning it down and rebuilding it. That's what the hobby dictates hehehe.

well i traded becasue i really can't afford the cost of the new 3.3, and i always wanted a tmaxx love the smell of nitro the sound of the engine, and working on it keeps me buisy its a great hobby

and your right the cost or parts do add up, but they are cheap and there are web site online that give great deals and ebay as well as good deals on parts so i do shop around for the best price

my emaxx was slightly modified it was a great truck fast very durable, he wanted a emaxx his tmaxx was to loud for his neighbors so i traded up and the next day he had it up for sale and its gone

thats ok i got what i wanted but at a price, and thats ok becasue it is afterall a hobby

I have a .19 dynamite eng and love it. Watch the width of your one way bearing, I hade problems and blamed the old style back plate. Turned out to be my one way was widder then some others I had, but it worked with the 3.3 eng. And you will need a small block air filter to fit the carb, I am using a motor saver. Have fun!

well guys i really dont know what I'm going to do , i already sold the new engine, the trans was bad as well, i got a replacement trans, I'm just so disgusted with my self for believing the old owner that this truck ran and didnt have any problems

I'm going back to electric, its up for sale on ebay, or if people want parts let me know

well it sold on ebay, going back to electric, got a handle on a e-revo
