Well after seeing insaneatv's rail i decided to look around and i found a deal i couldn't turn down ..

It has a 1600 cc VW motor with custom cams.. He says it has the 5 rib bus trans and such it needs a little electrical work but it will make a sweet dune rig when we get her fixed...

Pics up soon...

Man thats a nice lookin rail...take a picture of the top of the transmission and i will tell if its a rare 5 rib....I wish mine had sides...if you need help with anything, i will be more then happy to help

...Oh yeah this is how it all starts

Yeah we dropped 2400 and it came with 4 brand new sand tires on aluminum rims.. runs like a champ.. The wiring is shotty at best but thats not to hard to fix

sweet man sounds like a great deal. i hate when electrical systems are cannibalized it always make for a nightmare chasing down a gremlin. i think you gotta do something about that steering wheel!

I said something to my wife about the wheel, the wiring on these cars are easy, i just redid all of my wiring, ripped it all out and started from scratch....I have a diagram for the electrical system if you want it

yeah? we can't drive them on the street here.. but it should do pretty good in the sand i would imagine..

Today we are shortening the distance from the seat to the throttle pedal/brake and clutch levers because i swear the guy had to be 8 feet tall to reach them

and I'm only 5 10 and my dads about 6 2 lol

so any good sites just for info?

Looks cool, should be a lot of fun over the spring and summer, and any other time the weather is good enough to go out and play with it....

some better pictures of it in the daylight

You bought something that was supposed ot have the bus trans and its got the sedan trans?

Ouch, sounds like quite a loss.

Interested in seeing some progress on it though.

Yeah but we still got a decent deal i think... the buggy basicly cost 1000 bucks because it came with 1300 dollars worth of Brand NEW never run sand tires/rims
