Shorty nice upgrades there buddy. I do have a question for ya there homie. If that is the HPI dual disc conversion you are missing the middle brake caliper thingy. Hope it stops ok like this. Maybe you have it installed now or something but in that picture it looks installed way wrong.

with the body clips, u have the zip-ties going right through the windows? sweet. the first time i looked at it, i thought it was just a regular zip-tie and fuel tubing mod. good idea, i doubt u will lose those body clips now.

yep the clips work so good i was thinking of makeing a how to for u lot i know what ur thinking its easy!
maybe 4 u but some ppl just ant got a clue:dumb:

and newnitrofan what bit u mean

drill small hole in window. attach zip-tie to eye-let in body clip. put 1"(I'm guessing) of fuel tubing on zip-tie. run zip-tie through hole in window. taking another zip-tie put that on the end of the zip-tie ont he other side of the window. lol. somethin like that

Shorty I know it's a little hard to see but there should be a third caliper that go's inbetween the two disc rotors I have included a pic from my gallery.

NitroFan - I checked with a few people on that a couple weeks ago and they told me otherwise. For some reason, the effect of the 2 cut sides against eachother actually HELPS the breaking process. So I'm told.

Of coarse, the directions that it came with didnt explain anything as to how or why they work well.

Was just trying to help a brutha out is all. I have mine installed and it works well. I have installed it according to instructions and it works out great. If you can do without it than sweet. Hadn't heard otherwise myself.

mine didnt come with any other bits and that is how i side to put them on i will check tho

I'm so misunderstood lol

I wasn't knocking what you were saying. Its just that when I went to install mine I was confused by the design. It almost seemed backwards. So after asking around, the common answer was no center caliper and cust sides in.

So which ones did you get? HPI's version or HotBodies version? I'm wonderring if they f*&%^d up the docs on mine since they werent helpful at all.

Well shorty bottom line is that you are going to like it no matter what. Anything is an improvement over stock. Christian I know you weren't knocking me at all. LOL. To me it looks like shorty wound up with the hot bodies conversion cuz I kinow the HPI conversion the rotors are a hell of a lot thinner. I personally have the HPI conversion.

Lmao ok thats it but i dont drill holes i heat up a small screw driver and push it through cuz i feel it makes the holes stronger

and yes mine is the hot bodys brakes i just checked

dose any 1 elsa use the hot bodys brakes and what do u think of them:egad:

The HPI stainless dual brake set up comes with a center caliper. The Hot Bodies kit is set up a little differently to gain the best braking action. Both kits work remarkably well.

Nice mod on the body clip. Go ahead and do a how to write up, include pictures, and we'll add it to our site as a reference.

Thanks for the "know-it-all" response, Maxx Trooper. Others may not find these "simple" mods so simple, and anyone who wants to take the time to write up a how-to should never be discouraged.

The second of the two would be considered a "know-it-all" response in my book. He stated that he was intending to do a how-to write up, and that not all mods are as easy as that for everyone. The next response you come out with is an explanation of how to do it. As I recall, he did not need or ask for the information you decided to share with the site. I'll credit you on the giving the information, just not the delivery.

Any further discussion can be conducted via PM. No need to further derail this thread.

I have both hot bodys and hpi's due, so far hpi's duel disk brake has lasted longer.
On the hotbodys brake I seemed to notice more brake fade. but with hpi's it has 2 big brake disk so the heat has some where to go and it also comes with a new brake hub and drive cup.

I have the crazy nut duel disk brake kit, and it has a 3rd caliper. It works really well. However it came with no instructions on how to put it together. So i just gave it my best guess. I'm pretty sure i did everything right except for one thing. I noticed that people are saying that the cut part of the disk should be in, and i put mine out. does it make a difference?

I think it will. From what I am being told, the cut part will eat away at the pads VERY quickly and should not be coming in contact with them. I've also been told that the 2 cut sides, in and of itself, sandwiching together, make for strong braking.

Again, I'm sure there are numerous way to mount these things. For now, I'm going to run without the center caliper and keep the cut sides against eachother. I like the idea of all flat surface coming in contact with the pads as it is.

Placing the two disks together and eliminating the center pad probably helps braking because of less heat buildup. It would seem to me that the thicker disk would be harder to heat up.

I'll keep all this in mind once I pick up the HPI DD kit. Thanks fellas.
