just thought id post a pic of my new home theater set up. it consists of an infocus x2 projector mounted to teh ceiling. gives us a 96" diag screen. and a onkyo 6.1 surround sound 130Wx6 and somethign like 200W to the 10" sub. its pretty sweet for moveis and stuff.. heres a pic of the screen.

so how is the x2? i had a infocus 4800 but i sold it now I'm waiting to buy the new 4805 which is hdtv quailty and they run around 2000.00 here with screen just waiting for a good deal onkyo 6.1 is a good choice great package deal, perfect for home use i have the same and just bought one for a friend of mine let me know how you like x2 and how sharp it is?

I love the x2... most people go with the x1 because they have the faroudja de-interlacer. but so far i love it. it is extremly sharp. it has a native resolution of 800x600 so you can see pixels when your up close but for normal viewing you dont notice. as i type I'm watching discovery hd tehater on it and it is breathtaking. i will try to snap a few pics.

That's freakin sweet! That's one hell of a big screen. My wife would never let me have a t.v. that big lol. We run a Samsung 43" widescreen DLP with Onkyo TX-SR701 6.1 receiver. Bose Surround. Just bought the Star Wars trilogy the other day... damn, they did a hell of a job on that.. I've only got through part 4 as of yet... workin a lot plus my r/c project. Freakin awesome for Video Games... oh damn, and when Fox does "Crank It Up" during the Nascar races...... oh yeah!

I have never been one for front projection. Yes there are some good ones out there but I have never been impressed while comparing the quality of the picture to some rear projection or plasmas.

Cost and space considerations make a front projection desirable if you are looking for a large picture but don't mind sacrificing quality.

I'm due for a new setup soon. My 52 inch Sony rear projection is about 6-7 years old now. I'm going to hang until I can get a GOOD HD plasma 50 inch or better for under 3k. Its not that far off.

eddy if you have a shop somewhere that has the in focus 4805 set up so you can test view it go check it out,i was knocked off my feet, the quailty is way better then most cheaper plasmas, and is better then the new sony grand vegas, and the price is not bad also check it out you will be imppresed!!!

I will do exactly that.
I'm in the market and new things are always coming out.

Till then, can I come over and make shadow hand puppets while your watching larger then life porn on your new setup?

Hey Nathan, how's it going? (he's no longer working at RC Sol)

Thats a sweet setup - Its a digital projector, rather than a front projection tv, right?
Dig projectors are awesome, no comparison to tv's.

whats up scott, yeah its a digital projector moutned to the ceiling. one of these days after work you oughta stop by here. we're liven about 3/4 mile from there now.
