cbreaker - it's a PROLINE body I picked up at my LHS. It doesn't fit as nice as the stock body though.

DarthRacer - Very nice, don't see alot of purple out there but
yours works. Well done !!

Thanks to all for the compliments on mine.

Great fade job! Especially for a first try. I've done some fade work myself and it definately takes a steady hand to get it right. Kudos!

CB - sorry man, I can't really remember and I threw that package away. I got it at HobbyTown and the guy told me it would fit the Storm just fine. It does fit, but like I said earlier, but not as nice as the stock body.

Okay, I'll try to find out.

Even if it doesn't fit as well, it would be nice to mix it up a little and have a different style in my line up.

Thanks.

Yes guys! I fealing the paint jobs plus I'm a huge Storm fan anyway. I think now you should take off you wing and paint it oo to match the rest of the car. I've got a paint job sketched and colored that will go on my next body whent he ones breaks. I can't wait to paint it.

The wing is a different plastic then the body, I guess.

I tried to paint some green trim on my black wing when I did the body, and I couldn't make it stick. It would peel right off.

Eventually, I sanded the upper deck of the wing very slightly with a 1200 black sandpaper and put a fine coating of green on that. It stuck okay.

The thing about wings, I think, is that they break kinda easily =) I broke the black one already when I dumped the thing pretty hard so from now on I'm going to put very little effort into painting them.

Yup, CB is right about the wing being a different kind of plastic than that of the body. I'm thinking that this new Fusion paint by Kylon I think might work on it. It's designed for plastic like lawn chair plastic.

p.s. - Here's my second shot at painting. I cheesed out on this one. It was easier than the fade. Decals on the inside, finished off with blue paint. 'Nuff said.

I'm sure that there is a professional way to blend but what I did was as I worked my way towards the middle of the body I increased the distance I was holding the can. Up close I get a concentrated spray and when you move away the pattern gets bigger and less paint makes it onto the body. The fade area of the body is simply over-spray. The second color is easier to put on, just paint whatever is clear. You don't need to worry about fading with the second color.

yeah you cna just use spray cans , its a fairly simple concept, but to get it just right takes work ... just spray the lighter color first (at whichever end you want it..) to the point you want it to end or fade, then spray the darker color from that point to the rest basically. and try to blend the middle section as good as you can

edit ... didnt see that militarymaxx post ... do what he said
