Well guys, my friend got a sneak peak but here it is:

Make: Jeep
Model: Cherokee
Year: 1996
Engine: Inline 6, 4.0 Liter
Mileage: 178,000

I got it from a guy that we have known for a while, and everything seems to run good. Its got the "legendary" 4.0l engine that the Cherokee's have and should last to 300k miles. I plan to put in a CD Deck soon, but also have to get my licence! Plus, there is plenty of room to store friends and RC's to go bash on the trails. Can't do that with a sedan can ya? (I am totally contradicting myself, but I do that a lot!) Haha, onto the pics! Let me know what you think.

That thing is cherry man. Now lift it and put some nice wheels and tires on it. LOL!

redhatman,

You've got yourself a nice looking Jeep bud, those 4.0L are truly a beast and "legendary". Before I got my "new to me" grand cherokee a few months back I had a 92 Cherokee Sport (not grand) with that 4.0L engine. I had the truck for about 9 or so years, when I sold the Jeep it had 238,000 miles on it and I kid you not anyone could jump in there start it up and take it for a drive and not believe it had that many miles on it. Take care of the engine, do your normal oil changes every 3,000 miles and that engine will take care of you for sure!

Nice jeep man. A buddy of mine growing up had one of those. It was a tank. Enjoy!

My question is....

Are you going to upgrade to high torque servos? Are you going to get your self a monster RX pack? What percent Nitro will you be using? Ditch the stock pipe and go with a newer free flowing one piece exhaust... NO ZIP TIES..

If you are going brushless.... Ask Sweetdiesel.

Really.. that is a great looking ride man. It looks like it has not seen much usage in the inside. Great score!!!

Thanks guys! I am excited and look forward to the years to come, hopefully it will treat me well if I do the same. We change our own oil, and we may bleed the brakes in a bit too.

As far as the Jeep's name, what should I call it? My dad calls it the Black Hawk, which is kinda lame. My brother has the Grand AM in the first pic, and he calls it "Lola" hahahaha, so I need a name to top that.

haha that cracks me up man. Same old questions lol. I actually just got done with my Revo to brushless conversion, and it works great.

For usage, we know the previous (and original) owner, and the only use they ever really did with it was hauling the dog in the back.

Congrats on the new ride Pat. Go with quad Neu 1515 2y motors (1 at each wheel) with 6:1 gear reduction and 16S lipo.

I would name it "Bush Wacker".

Looks great!

My 1994 4.0L Grand has 107k miles on it and it still runs like new. Power and fuel economy are the same as the day I drove it off the lot with 6 miles on it. Here is a very recent pic.
