RC Driving Style
As I have designed the TVPs along with Natedog and savage-rocks, I am finally getting to build my own. After driving and comparing a lot of trucks, I am after the handling and performance these mid tanked trucks have to offer.. So I got the new Case Hardend Alloy steel screw kit from Natedog, and I am parting out the "ultimate basher" but using the front and rear for this project.. I was going to go with the 1" overall but have decided to go with the 1.5" overall as I just love the stability that length offers.. Some people feel an extended length chassi hurts in turing, but with my driving style it makes me faster.. I can enter a corner way faster and with a little whip I am out with higher speed, with the added length there is no such thing as spinning out.. . I have switched back and forth between frames and have my choice, but always go back to the 1.5" extended lengths.. Now I want this in mid tank form.. So here I am...

Specs on these are .. .5" extended in front.. and 1" extended in rear.. MGT mid tank bolt up with a .5" LCG drop... They are made from the 4.25mm 7075 T6 aluminum (way overkill). I have all the best stuff I own on here.. Polished LST shocks, Lunsford Titainium tie rods, dynamite CVDs, Maxximizer X-75 beadlocks with rock ring... I also will use the NoveRossi 528xrp.. Its more relaible than any other engine I have and the power of it is absolutly unmatched..! Coupled that with the 3 speed and 17/47 gearing and she's a rocket at any wieght... I picked up some JR racing servos to go with my new XS 3 Pro Syinth... I had to fabricate and radio tray.. but I used a bumper from the Rush bumper set that I bought as the battery relocation box (sicj's design) and it works perfectly.. I also had to make a mount for the on/off switch, and anttena holder.. I am going with the Torsen 6 spider gear diff in the front.. all held in with AL diff cases.. This is all in mack up stage but I am planning on running it next weekend in a bash with some of the bash team...

Nothing is wired final because it all has to come apart for final assembly and I still ahve to send the TVPS out for annodizing.. I think they are calling for Black... :D

Thats as low as the tank can get.. I think sijc may have it lower on his but I shure couldnt find a way to get it any lower..

Next on the build is the linkage, final wiring, half-back cage, and I guess some locktight..

Some of you have prolly scene my diff build, but here is the new pretty look.!

Its cage time.. My half back cage has proven itself over and over.. and since I am not planning to demolish this thing every time I go out, I can use the black high dencity poly-etheline... This stuff is not as plyable as the white I been using.. It should hold up to what i plan to do with this rig... I just couldnt have white on this truck..

Nothing high tech here.. Just vice, and a heat gun.. I just tack welded the sleeves to the mounts for now..

Getting the second side bent to be semetrical to the other is the hardest part of building these things...

But I got it...

looks like every other truck you ever built. :)

how many bashers have you built now? lol

hahaha... you dip stick.. :hammer: this is the first MGT mid tank I have built.. yea the parts may look simular and if you read the post it says that I am using the front and rear ends off my basher that has been around...

but to answer your question I have 2 built bashers, 1 NIB SS 4.6, and parts to build 3 trucks... I am working on a trade for an LST so I will be loosing one of the fleet...

Another killer truck skip.... I love those rock rings man, any for sale?

Yea I have a set here... I was hoping to have a reason to send the body for this truck to you for one of your wicked paint jobbies..! Now heres the thing, I wanna have all the parts hard black anodized and have the TVPs polished first... Have you ever scene that before..?

Looks good! How much that cage weigh? Looks pretty heavy. Lookin good though!

Hey Skip I allready own your .5 lcg tvp's but i sure like the ones you are useing in this project. do you sale that overkill TVP? and that is a fine looking truck very nice .......

Do you have an OFNA tank laying around? The buggy tank? Just curious if you could take a photo of it next to the MGT tank. I just want to see the size comparison as I want to try a different tank on my savage.

The cage it self has no weight... about the same as a rim (no tire) but the mounts have some weight to them.. If I had more shop time I would make them out of AL, but because the mounts are on the TVPs the weight is distributed evenly front and rear.. Still it is lighter than any cage on the market...

How is this.. If you want a different veiw LMK.. I was getting 9+ min with the ofna and we get about 13-14 min run time with the MGT.. Also the MGT runs upside down.. and we seem to like the feed of it..
