It was nice while the pic was there. What happened to the pic? Bring back the pic. We are lost without the pic!

There we go! Looks sweet, I like it alot... another black and blue scheme... can never get anough of those. I like the black Lower braces. What does RC Raven make those out of?

I just painted mine last night, copper glitter backed with dark brown, and now I'm doing the cutting and fitting.
It's HPI's Jeep Rubicon.
Great sticker sheet with it too. Full wrap around sticker for the front winch, a choice of the windows you see, or just the black frames. It also looks intense on the Tmaxx because of the scale.
I'll post mine when it's done. I've gotten rave reviews on the paint job, but I don't know how well it will show up in the photos.

thanks guys, Olds its an HPI jeep rubicon like Rolex said. Rolex lemme know how you mounted it ...seems like it might give some trouble for the front holes. The winch part kinda hangs over the front bumper. Plus I gotta take everything off now to put the new chassis in. Lessen RC Raven makes the braces out of 6065 I believe.. only problem with them is that the holes arent tapped out correctly and one is a little crooked. Same problem with the frame. Motor mount holes where drilled to far forward and then they drilled new ones right in behind it. Gave a plate to correct the problem. We will see how that works.

I cut it out last night, and today I did the final Dremmel work. I haven't cut the body holes out yet. I have to make several changes since I originally had the Humm-V on it, and that needed very tall towers in the back, through the roof. I also have a massive front bumper with brush bar that I want to leave in place, so I'll probably have to cut out most of the winch to clear it. Check my gallery to see the bumper. It's off a rinky-dink New Bright pickup that a neighbor got at a garage sale for $2. I let him keep the truck, but I talked him out of the bumper. It's mounted on the Humm-V upside down.

Can't find the button to "view member's gallery", so here's an attachment.

A lot of work to make this one fit. I'll get a better photo tomorrow in the daylight. I had to take out the entire grill to clear the big bumper, but I have airflow without punching a hole in the windshield. I guess you already found out that the rear marks for the body posts are off by about 1/4 inch if you used the front marks for centers.
I'm going to have a real problem getting my tuned pipe set up tomorrow.
I'm sure you also know that you have to trim off a lot of the front fender flares in the front to clear the wheels at full turn. Not something I expected till I checked clearances.

Mine is also mounted much lower than yours. The running boards cover the edge of the belly pan. I also had to remove the rear bumper that was part of the lexan body. All in all, it does look good.

That Rubicon body rox/ Very nice Maxx.

very very nice body,i dont know why but I'm attracted to that body everytime i see it i get a "woodie"...nice job......lol

I think Mike better look out for you.

:)

Good job Mike. But the body would fit better on, say, a Savage ;)

thanks Jon2, me too hb1111, I really liked the look of the body since I first say it on the HPI website. Noone around here has a body like this. Its all the typical F-350, Chevy Assalanche, or hummers. Not that I have a problem with those styles I just wanted a little different. Rolex did you line up your rear post first or did you do your fronts? I kinda dont want to mount this body cause it looks good and i know I am gonna end up trashing it. (but what the heck its all part of the game right?) I dont think I am gonna have that much trimming my body sits alot higher like you said. Chris.......thanks for parts for the possessed T-maxx. I'll be waiting for you to hand deliever them. Thanks guys for all the positive feed back.

I did the fronts first, using the dimple as the center. That made the rears line up partly into the curve of the roll bar. If you start with the rears first, using the marks as center, you then start the fronts about 1/8 forward of the dimples, small enough to see where the front towers are. When you enlarge the front holes, you guide the opening towards the front, and they will line up. I use a tapered stone in a Dremel, so you can start small, and enlarge it to fit in the direction it needs to go. When you have all 4 holes opened, line up the body and you can see which way you will need to enlarge each one till it's the right size to fit your body mounts.
Normally I mark the clear body with a sharpie first, but I thought the dimples were exactly where they were supposed to be.
You'll still have to cut off a lot of the front fender flares to clear full turn at the bottom of the suspension.
I guess this body wasn't meant for a Tmaxx, but it sure looks slick. Good luck with yours, it's a beauty. Let me know how the installation goes.
