ok heres the deal.. i got this nitro sport as some of you may already know.. basically rtr for 35 bux.. (minus radio but i couldnt complain..) so heres the deal.. ITS SLOW!!!! motor fires right up.. has some compression.. (can't guage here because all I've ever had was big blocks..) it has decent top end.. (again I'm guessing) but the take off is slow.. wont even turn the tires over on concrete.. if i lean it out it starts running crappy or not wanting to run.. (again good compression and good topend once it finaly gets there.) is this normal for the pro .15?? or is it the truck with its lack of bearings pulling it down?? seems to roll good.. but temps get to 280 290 befor it starts running good.. still has nice smoke but i dont like those temps.. (maby my gun is off??) anyone have one of these?? I'm looking for experence because this is my first 1.stadium truck 2.non bearing truck 3. 2wheele drive truck 4. small block engine 5. traxxas... anyone have any ideas on this thing?? i dont want to dump alot of money in it because its just a little play around the yard truck.. i just want it to run like its supposed to..

You might want to rebuild the diffs and clean/inspect or replace the bearings all together in the clutch and hub carriers. If these are binding, it will cause the problems you are having.

If all checks out and you still have those problems, I'd cut my losses and get a new engine. It might be on its last legs.

You could also have a bad clutch or the slipper clutch may be too loose.

I got a used Duratrax form a guy and he cooked the clutch and break disk trying to tune it holding the breaks at hi RPM's. Anyway when I ran it with the shot clutch, it didn't have any low end power either. Decided to stick it in the corner and keep my Losi going before spending any money on the Druatrax. :hammer:

That's true. I completely forgot about that. That would be the first thing I'd check first. Then check the diffs and bearings. Regardless, you should do a complete breakdown of your car to see what else would need to be replaced.

When i had my nitro rustler with the pro 15, it would run a lot better when it was rich... i mean spittin fuel rich... It was amazing.. it would do wheelies and stuff and never overheat... I couldnt believe it... thne, i try leaning it out, runs like crap...

ok i got the bearings ordered for the front and rear tires.. $7.50 for the whole set whoohoo.. is there anywhere else i need bearings?? i got front inside and out and rear inside and out.. maby this will help..

your clutch assembly and diff needs a couple as well. Check the manual, it'll tell you where else you'll need them.

no manual:( i got it "second hand") the clutch and diff dont come with them?? thats crazy!!

EDIT
Sorry, just realized I gave you the link and p/n's for an RC10GT and not the nitro sport. Follow digger's link and you'll be fine.

thanks guys.. but again do the clutch and diff now already have bearings??

they sure do. I would take them out for a "look-see" as well as cleaning and relube. Replace them all together to be sure. You don't know how long they've been in there. A little bit of grit will cause premature failure.

Did you richen the low speed needle?
Also, you said it rolls good.
If it's free wheeling good, your problem might be that it needs to be richer.

richer?? it acts like its to rich.. i hit the gas and it kinda chugs allong untill it gets higher rpm.. but it doesn't cut out like they normaly do when to lean..

It's hard to tell without hearing it.
It might be a clutch problem as someone else stated.
