Check it out! Just finished building my Inferno, its old but its fantastic. Might be able to give you Hyper 7's a run for your money.

One mistake I made is to drill the pressure valve into the wrong side of the pipe. Take a look, will this make a difference, I hope not. I drilled it on the side instead of the top. Also I'm having a problem securing the front of the pipe, any ideas how to do it?

From what I know. The pressure line is typically installed near the end of the pipe between the end of the pipe and the stinger. I can only assume this is so that when the pressure wave hits the end of the pipe some of it would be directed through the line to the fuel cell. Also many pipes have a protrusion on the end that you would attach a heavy guage solid wire to then attach to the chassis.

You can see the protrusion at the tip fo the pipe.

In this pic you can see the wire attached to the top of the pipe and the pressure line below the stinger.

So what does this mean-do I have to throw away my pipe now that I have drilled the hole already? And notice my pipe, there is no protrusion, thats my problem, so do i glue one on?

Erick, I see that the pipe is sitting in some type of retaining cu. Is it possible that the pipe is supposed to be strapped down?I saw it in the first picture, halfway down the pipe and could barely see itin the second picture but it is there.

no no. I wasn't trying to say that you should throw it away. I was just giving my opinion.

As for how to attach the pipe...From your pics it seems like there is some sort of brace or something under the pipe... Can you wrap a long zip cord around the pipe and through the brace somehow. (or is that just a shadow?)

Those are body guards or side guards and I thought about putting a strap around but can't find how unless I drill a hole since these are screwed onto the chasis on each side. The part number for these side guards is KYOC5743.

I could put a tie around the pipe and the fuel tank but that would seem ackward.

With the position of my pressure tap, can I try to start the engine or am I risking anything?

Diver and I are not talking about the mud guards... I took your pictures and put an arrow to the part were talking about.. there seems to be something just under your pipe...

Yeah you should be able to start the engine just fine, it might just run a little lean because there is a chance there might not be enough pressure. OR, it might work just fine.

Yeah I saw that but it doesn't help because I have the mud guards which would inhibit attaching the tie strap to any part of the chasis. Perhaps I should make an appointment with you-I'm meeting Diver6127 on Sunday, Ill have him take a look. I have to race you Rob-Kyosho vs Kyosho (old school vs new).

There's a grove on the pipe, I bet that's where a retainer goes to hold it down. Bring it when we meet. I'll take a look at it and try to bring appropriate tools and gadgets to get it to hold.

yeah on mine the wire is attached to the chassis then bent out to that protrusion... I'm sure we can figure something out.

Where are you guys running this Sunday?

We are meeting at the same place we met you last time, CP around 2:30. Bring all your extra wheels/tires. It may just be my birthday for all you know.

Don't forget, this is just a meeting amongst friends who wanna do some friendly runing. Maybe I'll bring my brother's savage and get some runs out of it.

Duly noted. Although I doubt you will have any time to play, you will be breaking in my inferno, my thunder tiger, and the violator (engine recently repaired) and fixing a 2 speed. I'll be glad to play with his savage while your taking care of the rest.

What else are rc friends for?

ok just to get this straight...your meeting at CP but not with the QURC guys...right?

I'll try to see if I can make it out there.

OH SH*T! And I thought all I was doing was helping with a pipe!

Rob, if some of the guys from QURC are there, that's ok but my main purpose is to get the final bugs out of my serpent, check repairs that I did on my Fusion and help out Erick.

As I said in the earlier post, this is a weekend amongst friends. Rob, there is a huge mulch feild over there and a really large dirt mound there we can make use of. I'm gonna bring my brother's savage to mess around with as well. Now that it's getting colder and on-road is definitely done, I'm thinking of pushing through with an earlier decision to get an MT. Don't know if it'll be the Savage or the MGT but it'll be a monster truck, none the less.
