Being that tx's run off of 9.6 volts, I wouldn't worry about that pack. AA's last quite awhile in a tx as long as you remember to shut it off before you walk away from it.

If the engine is sound, I think you made a good choice & you'll have a lot of fun with it.

I'dalso pick up a temp gun if you can, this will help to make sure you're not running too lean, & a couple extra glow plugs as well. I used this tuning method, and it kept it ust a tad on the rich side (which is better than too lean), but not too overly rich.

Also look at the nitro tuning flowchart at the top of this forum.
