Build Thread My first build - 1/24 rock crawler

Finally got around to doing more work to this.
Definitely not done yet

Put some carbon fiber decals in the recessed panels and added turbos to the hood

Now I need to get the body mounted lower. That' going to require some more figuring.
I will have to move the ESC- currently that is up front.
I also have to figure out HOW to mount the body
Then, when I get it lower, it will cause rubbing on the fenders. It's rear wheel steer, so I have to worry about all 4 corners rubbing

With those Isokinetic axles, you gain a lot of steering that requires some sacrifices in cosmetics. But that's what the full size guys do. If it rubs, hack it off lol.

You may even have to give up some of that extra steering the Meus axles give you. But as long as you're still gaining a little extra steering, that's not bad. You have rear steering now, so you're already WAY ahead of stock in the steering department. So balance it out by lowering your endpoints as well as some clearancing.

Get a sheet of 2-3mm thick plastic and cut a plate to mount vertically on the chassis rail. Find a couple bolt locations in the railes to mount it to. You have plenty of room between the chassis and body.

My concern is how this will line up. Unless I can get the body low enough, you will see part of the ESC due to the body going

on that upward angle

If you check my The Cheat build, I bought a stick of 1/16 aluminum from the hardware store and fabbed up some velcro body mounts for mine. Just an idea.

By George, I think I've got it

I lowered the body mounting points and moved the ESC and battery to sliders. I trimmed the sliders to give the tires room.

I think the tires might rub on the fenders some, I'll find out when I test. But I do have a dremel so I can work with that.

Only issue I am definitely having is the battery doesn't want to say. I am goign to try some velcro on the bottom of the battery and top of the tray. I have seen that done and seems to work well

Weight distribution is good, but he's a heavy bugger

Yes, the tire treas is reversed on purpose

Actually the fronts are backwards trying to get more traction

My buddy, the one that got me into these things, suggested it.
Still getting the rig dialed in so not sure how effective it is

Think I got it dialed in.
Velcroed the battery to the one slider.
Tried my hand and wire management
Trimmed the rear fenders and really dialed down the endpoints on the rear steering as suggested.

Also lowered the mounting points in the front shocks to lift the front end a bit for better clearance

Looks great!

If needed, I don't think you'd hurt the looks at all to even trim a little more out. Especially the front. But if you get plenty of articulation and steering, no worries.

More progress

Got the front mounted better
Also tucked in an ammo can in the rear, as my Instagram is @_ammo_can_rc
With the Injora mount I could raise the front up a little to get a little more clearance for the front tire
Pretty happy. It's almost "done"

Worked on it more last night.
Needed a nut for the front body mount. Didn't have anymore. Was talking to my buddy and he said to trim a piece off one of the extra shock mount things I had

It worked great, and it was free

Also trimmed the rear fenders to get a bit more clearance for the tires

Need to work on attaching the carbon fiber decals better as you can see here.

Still tweakign the suspenion set up, and need to get a better mount set up on the rear. It just isn't that strong of an attachment, not sure why
