i dont think you need to calibrate the blue duratrax flashpoint temperature guage.(i have that one btw)
 
thats the exact same one i have. . .u may wanna look at the booklet that came with it. . .just a suggestion if you want an accurate reading
 
were you checking temps after atleast 2 high speed runs? When i mean high speed the truck should be in 2nd about to be wound all the way out. That will get the temps the highest and that is when i check. I try to not let the truck idle any after the high speed run. I run it back wide open hit 2nd wind it out and stop it at my feet and check temps!
 
well yah i checked the temps everytime the truck passed by me. But ill make shure to be more careful when i get the sirio .18 from jnjritz. IF i get it.
 
I'm sorry but this all looks real shady to me. You post a vid of your "new" revo on the third day. It was idling high and people told you it sounded lean, but you ignored that, Did you even break it in or just dump fuel in it and jam the throttle? Now it's blown up. Then you post you are willing to pay $200 for a new engine, and now you want someone to give you one for free? Something is not right here.
 
I got my revo for christmas but broke it in onlast saturday. i was tuning it and my temp readings where showing 230-250 which is around the right temp , but i geuss the thermometer was not calibrated.I posted that i wanted to buy an engine yesterday just to see what kind of deals i will get. I got an grwat offer from BOUTCH , i told my dad but he said we really can't afford a new engine at the momment. I dont expect a free engine from anybody I'm just asking if anyone will be nice enough to donate one so i dont have to quit the hobby and sell everything that i have related to nitro or rcing. I really love drinving rc's and i would want a engine but if i can't/dont get one then oh well ill just have to wait and earn money for one.

I hope nobody feels that I'm screwing them or anything.
 
Great news!

GREAT NEWS EVERYBODY ! I called traxxas today and told them what happened.They asked me where did you buy your rc? I said My lhs. They asked for my lhs number.They called my lhs and told them to replace my engine for free!!! yes thats right free!!!! I went to my lhs at around 11 in the morning and i gave them my old fried engine and got a brand spankin new engine !!!! I'm sso happy ! THANK YOU TRAXXAS CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think when my dad was buying me the revo for christmas i think he bought the extended warranty plan from my lhs.

Well its time to go break her in ;]
 
Well thats great news .. i'm glad you got a new one, Just becareful this time. and make sure you ask questions about things.

good thing you posted this i was about to go to the post office and get you a price.
 
thanks ill make sure i ask lots of questions. I Could still buy that one off of you if you want , so i can have a backup engine. How bout this if you find out the price for shipping ill take it off your hands.

make sure u follow the break in procedure to a T, and use that owners manual for the truck and the engine like a bible and you will be just fine
 
I did the break in like 2 hours ago :] I'm so happy And ill make shure to take care of this engine like a little baby :)
 
just make sure that it is tuned properly, thats all i can say. ..these little nitro engines are very finniky when it comes to a tune. . .and every day you run it you are going to have to adjust your tune a little bit, not a complete retune, just an adjustment. . .just some food for thought for ya
