Build Thread My E-Revo 2.0

This is my new-to-me used E-Revo 2.0. I purchased it used off eBay and when I got it it was much more thrashed than I was expecting. So before driving it for the first time, I tore it down to a bare chassis, pulled everything apart, gave it a good bath, and went through the diffs and transmission/cushdrive. I then went after the pivot balls that were in desperate need of a rebuild. If you’re interested in the process, I’ve created a little slideshow that I’ve posted on YT:

I put it all back together and got it out for a bash and it rips.
Very happy with the truck and am looking forward to more mods and much more driving. I’ll keep this updated as I make changes. -E

I got lucky with some fleabay purchases but a few of my used buys have been REAL rough too.

Sure, and sorry for the late reply.
I’m running the stock electronics, with dual Zeee 2s 5200mah lipos for 4s, and dual Zeee 5200 mah 3s lipos for 6s. I find that for my usual bashing space, 4s is plenty adequate.
I made a couple new mods I’ll be posting on soon. -E

lol. I have seen a couple 3.3’s for sale around, but I don’t think my neighbors would like that very much, lol.
I was bummed about the chassis, but it is what it is. I’ve had some good purchases on eBay, so I’m kind of accustomed to the risk.
I’m an automotive detailer, so I have some good products on tap for that kind of stuff.

Alright! that bad for shore ,what is the oem motor for the e revo?i love how that combo performs on yours, do you think that would be a good fit on my revo?

I believe the oem motor is a 2200kv motor, and I’m not sure about your e-revo, I would assume it would work, but I’m not sure. Here’s the combo I’ve got in my rig:

Thanks, I can't bring myself to get known on the communist Zuckerberg site, when I have a little cash I usually shop L&M hobby and rc/express with free shipping their prices are excellent, new and used, i have a few things I can get rid of for a little cash, I have a lot to do on Roy, aka revo. till I need to rip it with a bitchin' motor like yours

Honestly, you can get a cheaper, better-performing motor and ESC from Hobbywing for roughly $130. 6s compatible. It's what I use in my revo and it hauls @ss. I'll have to get a video of it at some point, but its a much better option than Traxxas electronics. They make you only buy their stuff and use their remote and receivers if you want to adjust the ESC settings at all.

The esc alone, even on Jenny's rc, (a GREAT place to get parts cheap as they are a chop shop where they buy new cars and part them out) is still 92 dollars. The motor for the sledge, (The closest thing to the Revo as it's discontinued), is still 73 dollars. That's a total of 165 dollars for some junky rtr electronics. You could buy the 8BL150 G2 2000kv for 6s at 125 dollars and the 8BL150 G2 2600kv for 4s at 120 dollars. Plus, you can use an actual programming card for them. No stupid app is needed. I would personally recommend the 2600kv for the Revo 3.3 or 2.5 electric conversion over the 2000kv as I was running into problems with the 2000kv motor limiting travel on the electric conversion mount for the Revo 3.3. It would hit the top a-arm and if you hit a big jump, it would slam the motor upwards potentially causing damage. Just my

You didn't derail a thing, I'm the sorry one, i apologize for jumping around here like I do, out of my ignorance of not knowing how to properly post and such, so thankyou and everyone for for being so kind and mostly thanks for the hotrod build tips.

Here are my latest mods… I noticed that now that it’s warm outside my motor was getting a little hot during my bash sessions, so I added a heat sink with dual fans, and that has helped tremendously. And I got tired of the ratty looking body, so I picked up a factory E-Revo body and painted that up in metallic red, which the iPhone camera really doesn’t do justice to. I did break the rear wing mount during my runs today, so I’ll have to grab one of those soon. Overall, still hanging tough. The internet seems rather divided on the durability of these trucks, but I have yet to see the breakages (with the exception of the wing mount, which happened when the weight of the truck landed on it). -E
