Hey guys,
Been working 12 hour shifts for about 3 weeks now. 3pm-3am. I finally got an 8hr tonight.

Still dark when I got home. Whatup with that?

Damn, just feels good to only put in 8! Sitting here drinking a "La Original" Coors (It actually says that on the can.) and screaming at the Ol Lady. Listening to Rainbow...

My little "bouncing baby drunk" came over today... Got to see a picture of my grandkid... That is kinda depressing... I'm only 43... He is carrying around the ultrasound pics in his pocket. She is about 4 months? They both have a lot of growing up to do. She has a 4 year old girl by another affair. Beautiful kid, but a little heathen. I wanted to jerk her up and smack her behind. What is it with some of these parents today? Want to psycho-analyze (spelling?) everything. When I was growing up, Mom or Dad told me something I did it.
Least till they were out of the room.

Felt like celebrating to start with... Guess I sound like I'm depressed. Not bad, just one of those days....
Just wanted to rant a bit. Thanks for letting me.

Being from a younger generation, I can understand what you are saying. I guess since I grew up without a dad I just have a diffrent set of Morals, but I cannot believe the way some of these children act now days. I say children, but most are my age- allbeit they are acting like 12 year olds.

Congrats on having that tho Digger. be happy you have people in your life who love you. Hope you get to feelin' better.

Hey Dig,

Hang in there bro. Although I haven't experienced exactly what you are going through, I have watched alot of my friends folks go through when I was in high school and there kids were having babies. It's tough, you want your kids to have it better than you did growing up. I think all parents do. I am not a father yet myself, but I have a four year old soon to be step son, who is awesome, except the fact he already has an attitude! Hang in there bro, if you need anything just pm me and I will throw you my number. Take it easy my friend.

Tom

I'll put my two cents in here. We were all kids once. So, by reference, we all know what is good and bad for kids, and what may work and not work as far as child upbringing.

Kids these days appear to be too much catered to, or just simpy left to their own devices.

My dad said, if I want something to do he'll get it for me. Little did I know he meant physical activities. If it wasn't afterschool sports (none of this foo foo soccer mom/private baseball leagues with metro-sexual dad crap) where I ran cross country and played hockey, very tiring sports, then I was sent all summer up to my grandfather's farm in Maine to help with the haying, and when I was not doing that I was expected to rake blueberries to earn my own money. And I did not come from a low income family. Their theory was if I had enough energy to get into trouble, then they would find activities for me so I had no extra energy.

I'll say this, kids need MUCH more structure in their lives, more than parents seem to realize these days.

Been making the joke about Paw-paw at work since I found out about it. My best friend had a blast with it.... Till he got his daughter's wedding invitation. :)
Oh yeah the other joke on me at work. Got caught up in a bar with a different agenda then what I'm used to. It was honestly a redneck bar the last time I had been in there. Well, the secretary has called me "girly-man" ever since.

My kid has had everything handed to him. Mom and Grandma. Not had much disipline. Now he has a lot of growing up to do. And fast.

Sorry if I sounded depressed guys. It was more sarcasm (sp). Thanks for the support.
