Hola,

Well, Their's not much difference in many fundamental ways between a real 4x4 and a RC Monster Truck. You need a stong ass driveline system that can handle the power and torque, you need a tranny that's not gonna take a dump on ya when under load and you need a solid high traction diff setup.

I'm been researching most everything that the aftermarket has to offer for the Maxx diffs. I'm still not to impressed for the prices. The UE diffs are bulletproof from all accounts but they aren't LSD's and they're expensive as sin. You can get strong ring and pinion and spider gears from various companies but that's not giving you more traction. It's just keep the existing system from breaking from big bore power or low gearing on a big small bore.

SO my biggest Maxx fantasy would be some stong ass DIFFS that can go from LSD to LOCKED diff with the push of a button..hehe. Like the "Electrac" system I'm getting for the rear Danna 44 on my 84 Chevy. Or an ARB AIr locker for the T-Maxx would work just fine. Yeah, I'm dreaming.....how about just some strong ass LSDS.

Peace

I agree, limited slip would be cool. I did put a spool in the back once, but I took it out. It caused me to break half shafts constantly, and it made it hard to drive under power, like staying on track while accelerating for a big jump.

CVD's would cure the breaking of the shafts.. :)

I've been thinking about a locker for just the rear.

Now that I have MIP CVD's I dont have to worry about this anymore...

I dont use cvd's because the plastic parts absorb a lot of shock, which protects the trans and diffs. My trans has 2 years of hard driving with 21's and is still stock, no problems.

I'm not 100% sure how this works, but according to the site, it's a LSD.

My only guess is that it sandwiches the thing with the two ears on it between a coupe spring type washers. So, your depending on the strength of the cup to have it not toast on you.
