i have 1 large angel, 1 red fin shark, 1 albino shark, 3 neon tetras, (had 10.. i think the angel was hungry), 8 striped dannios, and 4 emperor tetras.

will be getting a small sucker next week, and maybe a few more of the emperor's

my store sells them in pair, one male and one female. the males eyes glow blue.

i like the bright colored ones, but i like the ones that school. its cool to watch them swim around together. i really like the neons, but i keep loosing them, I've lost 7 but only ever found one body.

That and the Zebra's are torpedo fast. I think they are actually a minnow, no? Anyway, I had three at one time years ago. I think they all lived for five years. My angle died last year--she was six.

If you have Zebra Dannios in the tank with the Neons, that explains why the little guys disappear. I learned that the hard way.
so.. your saying the zebras are eating the neons? they never chase each other when I'm watching.

How big is the angel?
she is pretty big. about palm sized.

i has some in my old 30g and they got pretty big. i think they are pretty cool. i had a bubble curtain in that one as well, and they would get in the bubbles and swim down, like a treadmill.

I never caught them red handed, but when my neons kept disappearing and showing up with tails or fins missing I blamed it on the Zebras. A friend of mine ran a pet store, so I returned all 5. End of problem with the Neons.

I had the bubble curtain at the back of the tank, and all 5 would spend their time scooting back and forth in the bubbles together.

hhmmm i blamed the angel, because of there reputation. I have three left and they seem to be lasting. i would like to get at least 3 or 4 more for a nice school, but i dont want to loose them.

the zebras were the same size as the neons when i got them, and arent much bigger now. i didnt think they would mess with each other.

my red fin has been a bully lately.. i think hes just riled up because i added 5 new fish.

i really like the bubble curtain. I used one of the 12in long pyramid air stones and buried it under the gravel in the front of the tank. i have the filter and the air in the middle, and each end is calmer so they have options. i also have the under gravel filter

the best part of my tank was the price, some guy in the neighborhood was moving to florida and needed it gone. he had 2 of them both 55g. i got the aquarium, stand, 2 air pumps, gravel, under gravel filter, fake plants, hood, light, basically everything but fish. plus a 10ft aluminum ladder for $30.

the stand was rough, but nothing some sanding, grinding, and rustolium, can't take care of.

the tank leaked at first, but after $12 of silicon, and a week, that was fixed.

When I moved, I gave away EVERYTHING. Now I regret it, and every time I go into a pet store I start looking at prices for a new setup.

i live in a pretty metro area, but there are setups on craigslist all the time. may be worth a shot if you want to get another. I sold my 30g when i moved, so i wouldnt have to worry about moving it. i regreted it as well, so when i found the 55 i jumped on it.

if i ever build a house/hit the lotto, i will have a built in aquarium

I actually built mine into a wall, and everything was hidden. Pumps, hoses, food, electrical connections. I had a series of toggle switches and micro valves on a panel on the wall that allowed me to turn on different lights and bubble pumps for different effects, as well as adjust the bubble speeds.

You guys got me lookin at my tank lol. I re-arranged the plants and cleaned the glass. I need to get some more fish too. It is currently housing 1 fancy guppy, 2 khuli loaches, 5 corys, 2 black neon tetras, 2 neon tetras, 3 glo light tetras and 2 white skirt tetras. My snail got stuck in the filter intake and died the other day. :( I got that new filter and it MOVES some water. Well the intake holes are bigger. I guess I can put some netting over it.

Any suggestions on fish?? I would like to get one or 2 bigger fish if possible.

I have 5 corys. :) (please read above) haha

I would like to get a angel but people say they are semi aggressive toward smaller fish?

I just realized there is no updated pics of my tank... I will have to take some tonight and post them. It looks a lot different now.

Me??? READ??? Right...

Angles can be agressive but mostly to their own kind. Unless they are a mated pair I would only have one. They are USUALLY good in a community aquarium.

The plant looks like Water Sprite??? It's growing good, that's for sure. I can not have plants--real of artificial. My Pleco just tears 'em up...

You definately need some larger fish in there. An Angel or Discuss would be cool. A mated pair of other would be better still...
