Just curious what you guys think a Mugen MBX6 is worth these days? I have potential for a trade and just want to see what the going rate is.

This is the rig:

Thanks!

Oh... about $50 plus shipping. I will give you $70 though.;) Honestly I am not really sure but I typically hit ebay and get an average of what they are going fo to make up my price....then factor in the engine type, pipe, servos ect.

I did see a couple new rollers going for around $500, and the engine in the pics looks pretty beat up, that air filter is just gross!

I have a brand new xo-1 that the guy wants to trade, just trying to figure out how much cash he should throw in.....

I figure the mbx6 is worth about what a new kit would cost. Around $500. So for trade for a new x01 i would ask for at least $400 cash plus the mbx6.

Thats just my opinion.

I find answering these types of questions to be very difficult as all the answers are subjective. Personally I wouldnt trade that MBX6 for a brand new XO-1 staright up even given the current conditions of the kits but thats just me. Lets just say i was going to trade my brand new XO-1 one for the Mugen buggy I would look on ebay like Zdragon mentioned but I wouldnt look at what people were asking for them Id look at auctions for a week and see what used MBX6s end up selling for and then make a rough determination based off of that +pipe + electronics + how bad do you want the MBX6 - condition of the kit. The worth of all that stuff though is going to vary from person to person. Also notice I didnt mention engine in the price of what I would calculate the cost of the buggy to be because unless the engine looks to be in exceptional condition I always consider nitro engines to have at least twice as much fuel through them as the owner claims and I always assume that the previous owner doesn't know his nitro engine from a hole in the ground so i assume that its been abused at least to some degree.

In this case in particular the Mugen owner obviously doesn't mantain his kit so I would also assume that at least $60-100 in replacement parts are gonna be required.

The buggy owner seems to think the car and the bump box is worth $1100. I explained that I could build one off eBay for $800 and basically questioned the condition of the engine based on the air filter. We will see if he replies....

Axial engines from what I understand arent worth a flip anyway from a lot of things I've read so even if it was in decent condition which is suspect IMO I still wouldnt value the engine very highly.

It definitely isnt worth 1100 bucks. Hell thats what you can build a new one for or close to it. I think the kit is $700 NIB You can get a good engine for it for lets say $250, servo $80 - $100 bucks, You can get parted out Losi bump boxes off of ebay brand new for $60 or so, Radio can very greatly but a lot of people already have their own radios anyway half the time.

I dont find myself buying used kits anymore or even trading for them very often because most people dont take as good of care of their kits as I do and they tend to think they are worth every penny they have put into them even though theyve put 2 years of wear and tear on them and and driven $500 dollars worth of parts off of them. Unless the skid plate looks like its in very very low use condition I wont even look at em twice anymore.

Personally i only buy used cars but i wont pay over 200 bucks for a used one i dont care what brand it is or how much it cost when it was brand new unless it was slightly used and has some good aftermarket stuff on it. Also to me a motor on a used car is blown in my eyes whether it runs or not bc you dont know how much fuel has been run threw the motor
