Mugen b3 starter box replacement T cables

Would I be able to use the protek surestart wire replacement on my starter box I’m an idiot and wired the traxxxas motors wrong way an looks like I burned one of them.

replace cooked motor ( a dc motor should not have smoked by reversing polarity)wire correctly that's why i advise taking pictures b4 disassembly

I’m going to recheck the motors because one of the leads melted off. What kind of guage would be right to use?
I have a ruddog that I use I just had the Mugen box for little while now that I want to get fix maybe wire another twin traxxxas 550 motors use on the old mbx

I was trying to go by the manual but I got confused when the motors had a ground cable the black one & red wire. On the Mugen manual the motors came with red wires
